The Truth About Brightening – 100% PURE

0

Happy April 1st! While the rest of the world might be busy with pranks and “tricks,” here at 100% PURE, we believe your skincare should be the most honest part of your day. There’s no room for “tricks” when it comes to the health of your skin.

As the season shifts and the world begins to bloom, it’s the perfect moment to shed the dullness of winter and embrace a complexion that feels refreshed, revitalized, and full of life. We’re clearing the air about what “brightening” actually means, moving away from harsh masks of chemicals and toward the pure, joyful glow that comes from within.

The Difference Between Bleaching and Brightening

In the beauty industry, the word “brightening” is often used as a polite cover for something much harsher. Many conventional products rely on aggressive bleaching agents or synthetic lighteners that achieve a temporary “paleness” by stressing and stripping the skin barrier.

At 100% PURE, we take a different approach—one rooted in Professor Authority and chemical vigilance. We don’t want to change the color of your skin; we want to reveal its natural brilliance.

Radiance vs. Irritation

True brightening is about radiance—the way light bounces off a smooth, hydrated, and healthy surface. When skin is congested or sun-damaged, it loses that “lit-from-within” quality.

Instead of harsh lighteners, we use:

  • Fruit-Derived Acids: Gentle enzymes from papaya and pineapple that lift away dull, dead skin cells without the “sting” of synthetic peels.
  • Stabilized Vitamin C: Our founder, Susie Wang, pioneered a patented method to stabilize Vitamin C using an oil barrier, preventing the oxidation that turns luxury serums brown and pro-oxidative.
  • Natural Brighteners: Ingredients like licorice root and sake (fermented rice water) that help balance the appearance of skin tone while providing deep nourishment.

By focusing on Active Sovereignty—our commitment to scientifically superior, vertically controlled formulas—we ensure that our brightening products are as safe as they are effective.

Why Your Glow Shouldn’t Be a “Secret”

We believe you deserve to know exactly what you’re putting on your skin. Transparency isn’t just a trend for us; it’s our heritage. We don’t hide behind vague terms like “fragrance” or “proprietary blends” that often mask phthalates or irritating synthetics.

Our Radiance Renewal System is an honest, three-step answer to lackluster skin. Because we own our manufacturing facility—Purity Park in San Jose—we have a “chain of custody” over every ingredient, from the moment it’s sourced to the moment it reaches your vanity. This “Beauty Bakery” approach means your products are made in small, fresh batches, protecting the potency of the antioxidants that make your skin glow.

The Spring Awakening Ritual

Featuring our beloved Products of the Month

To celebrate this season of renewal, we’ve curated a ritual designed to nourish, brighten, and deeply replenish your skin. These aren’t just products; they are a sensorial experience that pampers your skin while delivering visible, high-performance results.

1. Cleanse: Virgin Coconut Moisturizing Milk Foam

A Spring Awakening begins with a clean slate. This isn’t your average cleanser—it’s a creamy, dreamy foam that feels like a soft cloud on your face.

  • The Transformation: It gently lifts away impurities and “detoxes” the skin using the power of lauric acid found in virgin coconut.
  • The Feeling: Your skin will feel incredibly soft, supple, and hydrated, never stripped or tight. It’s the perfect first step to restore comfort to your complexion.

2. Treat: Vitamin C Glow Max Bright Mask

This is where the magic happens. This mask is a concentrated burst of energy for tired, dull skin.

  • The Experience: You’ll love the cooling, jelly-like texture that pampers your skin on contact.
  • The Benefits: It uses a lush stack of fruit enzymes to exfoliate away dullness, revealing skin that looks more awake, revitalized, and fresh. Because it’s 100% PURE, you get all the glow with “no-sting” comfort.

3. Repair: Brightening Serum

Our Brightening Serum is a true “super star” in our collection. It’s formulated for those who want an even, balanced-looking tone without compromising on health.

  • The Science: Sake and licorice root work in harmony to help lessen the appearance of dark spots and unevenness.
  • The Payoff: With regular use, skin looks brighter, clearer, and more radiant. It’s a “rejuvenating trio” for your skin’s health.

4. Moisturize: Vitamin C Face Cream & Vitamin C Eye Cream

The final touch for a “lit-from-within” finish. Layering these two favorites creates a protective, nourishing barrier that locks in hydration.

  • Vitamin C Face Cream: This deeply moisturizing formula leaves skin feeling plump, dewy, and renewed. It’s like a daily dose of sunshine for your face.
  • Vitamin C Eye Cream: Specifically designed for the delicate eye area, it de-puffs and brightens, helping you look more awake and refreshed even on your busiest mornings.

FAQ

Is natural brightening as effective as clinical lighteners?

Absolutely! While clinical lighteners often rely on harsh chemicals like hydroquinone, our natural brightening ingredients—like stabilized Vitamin C, sake, and fruit enzymes—work with your skin’s biology. By supporting healthy skin cell turnover and protecting against oxidation, you achieve a radiant, long-lasting glow that looks and feels healthy, rather than a temporary “bleached” effect.

Can I use the Radiance Renewal System on sensitive skin?

Yes! Our “Spring Awakening” ritual is designed to be gentle and restorative. We use soothing ingredients like aloe juice and fermented waters instead of plain water to ensure our formulas are hydrating and supportive of the skin barrier. Our “no-sting” fruit enzymes provide exfoliation without the irritation often associated with synthetic peels.

How long does it take to see a “Spring Awakening” in my skin?

While many customers notice an immediate boost in softness and hydration after just one use of the Virgin Coconut Moisturizing Milk Foam and Vitamin C Glow Max Bright Masktrue transformation takes time. With consistent use of the full ritual, you can typically expect to see a more revitalized, even-toned, and radiant complexion within 4–6 weeks, which is the time it takes for a full skin-cell renewal cycle.

6 Supplements Doctors Actually Take

0

These days, it seems like everyone is taking a supplement—to look better, think better, sleep better, relax better, poop better, or work out better. And you’re not imagining things: Half of adults and one-third of children in the United States take supplements regularly, according to the Office of Dietary Supplements.

Supplements may be ubiquitous, but many experts have serious reservations about their rise. First, most physicians recommend obtaining nutrients directly from food rather than a pill or capsule. Second, supplements aren’t reviewed for safety and effectiveness by the FDA before they hit shelves. Because of all the concerns surrounding supplements, Jeffrey Linder, MD, MPH, a general internist and professor of medicine at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, takes a dim view of the category overall: In fact, “a vast majority of supplements are probably worthless,” he tells SELF.

Still, there are exceptions to every rule—and supplements are no different. Many experts, as it turns out, do take some type of supplement, but they are choosy about which ones they select. Read on to learn more about six they actually use.

Vitamin D

How it works: Vitamin D plays key roles in bone health and immune function. In fact, low vitamin D is associated with a wide swath of medical conditions, according to Dr. Linder—including cancer, autoimmune diseases, infectious diseases, and cardiovascular issues (and, famously, seasonal affective disorder, or SAD).

Why some docs like it: Vitamin D deficiency is widespread, especially among people who live at northern latitudes that don’t see as much sun during the winter, and people with darker skin. What’s more, few foods contain significant amounts of vitamin D, so it’s tough to source enough from your diet. Lawrence Green, MD, a dermatologist and clinical professor at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences, tells SELF that these two factors make vitamin D a rare nutrient “we do need to take supplements for.” Nearly every single one of the eight doctors who spoke with SELF for this article said they take a vitamin D supplement, especially in the winter, though the frequency and dosage varied.

What to keep in mind: Most docs recommend vitamin D3 (also known as cholecalciferol) over vitamin D2 (also known as ergocalciferol), as studies have shown that D3 is more effective at raising vitamin D levels in your blood. Whichever option you decide on, try to take it with food—specifically, an item that contains fat. Because vitamin D is a fat-soluble nutrient, it “absorbs better that way,” Sara Velayati, MD, an obesity medicine specialist at Montefiore Einstein and an assistant professor at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City, tells SELF. For this reason, Dr. Green makes a point of taking his supplements with breakfast or dinner. “The fattier and thicker the meal,” the better, he says.

in-cosmetics Global 2026: IMCD leverages the skincare – aesthetics convergence

0

From April 14 to 16, 2026, at in-cosmetics Global, the specialist in cosmetic ingredient distribution and formulation will present a kit of seven formulations developed for post-aesthetic procedure care, one of the industry’s most dynamic segments.

“The trend you can’t ignore”

Aesthetic procedures are no longer a niche,” IMCD underscores in a press release. According to market intelligence firm Spate, in 2024, close to 38 million treatments were performed worldwide — a 42.5% surge since 2020. The rise of first-time users is particularly striking: by February 2026, #FirstTimeBotox content on TikTok had climbed to over 477,000 weekly views at its peak.

IMCD argues that for beauty brands and formulators, skincare is no longer ancillary but central to the treatment strategy — supporting the skin pre- and post-procedure, and over the long term, to maximize results and reduce the frequency of interventions.

Aesthetic Care

At the heart of IMCD’s stand the Aesthetic Care (latin for care in the service of beauty) zone will showcase a formulation kit featuring seven exclusive formulations, spanning skincare, hair care, sun care, toiletries and colour cosmetics, each designed to support recovery and/or lock in results after aesthetic procedures:

  • Calmantia Cutis: soothing, anti-inflammatory cream with a cooling effect, suitable for use after any facial or body procedure;
  • Structura Dermis: collagen-boosting nano-emulsion serum designed to support Botox effects;
  • Delicata Universalis: ultra-gentle cleanser with a soft, creamy foam suitable for post-procedure skin;
  • Volumen Laborium: plumping creamy lipstick with anti-hyaluronidase and collagen-boosting actions, suitable for after lip filler;
  • Regeneratio Capitis: soothing aqueous spray to help protect new hair and support regrowth post-transplant;
  • Lenis Scalpium: foaming shampoo with strong humectant action to help comfort the scalp post-transplant;
  • Integritas Solaris: fast-absorbing, high-protection sunscreen promoting the biological markers involved in the natural healing process of the skin.

The formulations have been developed by IMCD’s experts in its Hair Care & Toiletries Centre of Excellence in Milton Keynes, UK, and Skin & Sun Care Centre of Excellence in Paris, France, leveraging the peptides and biomimetic lipids, as well as the ceramide boosting systems and targeted actives, from the group’s portfolio.

Post-procedure skincare is shifting from a niche concern to a mainstream opportunity. Consumers are more informed, more proactive, and they want products that genuinely support their results, not just soothe them in the short term. The Aestheticae Curae kit represents our response to this: rigorous science, smart formulation, and a real understanding of what skin needs to recover well and maintain aesthetic outcomes over time,” comments Irene Cantos, Global Director of IMCD Beauty & Personal Care.

Focus on make-up

At the Makeup Bar, IMCD will also invite visitors to experience a full-face makeup – designed in group’s Colour Cosmetics Centre of Excellence in Milan, Italy – to bring formulation performance to life and featuring a gel lip tint, cooling stick concealer, soft-focus highlighter and melting eyeshadow stick.

Tia Mowry New Boyfriend: Sister Sister Star Steps Out in Style

We have been rooting for our girl Tia Mowry since the Sister, Sister days, and seeing her look this radiant is making our hearts so full! This week, the internet went into a complete meltdown when photos surfaced of Tia out and about with a handsome mystery man. The two were spotted holding hands and even sharing a sweet kiss while rocking coordinated white outfits, and honestly, the chemistry was undeniable. It feels like she has officially stepped into a beautiful new chapter, and we are just happy to see her living her best, most authentic life.

The Long Road to Peace and Love

It is hard to believe it has already been three years since Tia and Cory Hardrict announced their split, with their divorce being finalized back in April 2023. Tia has been incredibly open about the “quiet period” she took after her sixteen-year marriage ended, using that time to reconnect with herself and find her own peace. She spent a long time healing and clarifying exactly what she wanted from a partner, and seeing the Tia Mowry New Boyfriend debut now feels like the perfect reward for all that inner work.

Decoding the Social Media Breadcrumbs

If you have been paying close attention to her Instagram lately, you know she has been dropping hints like a master detective! Before the official public outing, she was teasing us with “soft launch” photos featuring bouquets of flowers, side-by-side shots of her sneakers next to his, and even a playful chalk sign about falling in love. She even confirmed she was “head over heels” during a red carpet interview in March, though she kept the details close to her heart until she was ready to share him with the world. We love that she took her time and let the world know on her own terms, proving that happiness is always worth the wait!

Balancing Flamboyant Style with a Practical Lifestyle — Inside Out Style

0

twitterpinterestlinkedinmail

Melissa asked a brilliant question:

“How do I go about balancing my natural flamboyance with the practicalities of being a mum of four?”

First of all, there is absolutely no reason why you cannot have your natural flamboyance in your style.

Being a mum of four does not mean your personality has to disappear. It simply means your clothes need to work harder for you.  You don’t have to be a mum, but still have a lifestyle that demands a more practical wardrobe.

This is not about toning yourself down. It is about being strategic.

Start with the Practical Elements

If you are a mum of one or four, practicality matters. That is not negotiable.

So before buying any clothes, ask yourself:

  • Is this machine washable?
  • Do I need to spend hours ironing it?
  • Is it wash and wear?
  • Can I quickly run a steamer over it?
  • Does it require constant dry cleaning?

If everything in your wardrobe needs specialist care, it is probably not practical for your lifestyle.

But if it’s machine-washable and easy to maintain, why not wear it?

Even your puffer jacket can in a fun colour

Forgo the black and neutral when choosing practical items like your puffer jacket.  Instead, select a signature colour that stands out and brightens your winter days.

Practical does not have to mean plain. It simply means the garment fits your real life.

And that is where intelligent style begins.

Flamboyance Does Not Mean Impractical

We often confuse flamboyance with fussiness.

They are not the same thing.

Flamboyance can be expressed through:

  • Pattern
  • Colour
  • Interesting construction
  • Detail
  • Texture
  • Unexpected combinations

mixing textures and colours along with fun statement brooches

Here’s an example of a very practical outfit that has a few elements that make it more interesting – the textuerd fabric of teh knit top, the sashiko stitching on the jeans and the large brooches that are durable but make a statement.

For example, a pattern is a brilliant tool. It creates visual interest and, very practically, it can disguise the occasional mark from little banana hands.

Patterned denim jacket makes a flamboyant statement whilst still being comfortable

Instead of a plain denim jacket find one with a pattern – still comfortable, very practical but way more flamboyant.

Pattern allows you to express personality without adding more layers or complexity. A patterned t-shirt is still a t-shirt. It is just more you.

Make the Basics Interesting

Sometimes the solution is not more clothing. It is more thoughtful clothing.

It might be:

  • A patterned t-shirt instead of a plain one
  • Sneakers that are comfortable but visually interesting
  • An embellished denim jacket
  • A dress in a bold print that is still jersey and machine washable

There are so many interesting shoes out there if you actually go looking. Comfortable does not have to mean boring.

statement pattern and embellished denim jacket

Here’s a super comfortable and practical outfit, and flamboyant is it’s middle name!  The print is bold and fun, and the denim jacket is embellished (by me) to express personality.

This is where you stop settling.

Instead of grabbing the plain and predictable version, you choose the version that reflects who you are.

Define What Flamboyance Means to You

I do not know what your version of flamboyance is, and that matters.

  • For one woman, it is dramatic sleeves.
  • For another, it is a bold colour.
  • For someone else, it is statement earrings or unexpected prints.

Now, big dangly sleeves might not be practical when you are juggling four children, or doing other things that they might get snagged in. That is just reality.

But that does not mean there are no other design elements available to you.

You can look for:

  • Interesting necklines
  • Unusual seam details
  • Bold patterns
  • Textured fabrics
  • Mixing colours
  • Statement footwear
  • Structured silhouettes

There is always a way to incorporate personality without compromising function.

bold colour and fun sashiko embellished jeans

Jeans and sneakers are comfortable and practical, but adding a bold coloured shirt and jacket (this jacket has stretch and is super warm and comfy) takes it away from bland and boring.

Style Is About Alignment, Not Sacrifice

This is where we come back to something important.

Style is not about following rules. It is about making choices aligned with your values and your life.

If you value self-expression, that deserves space in your wardrobe.

If you value practicality, that also deserves space.

This is not an either-or.

It is about intelligent integration.

MIxing patterns adds a level of interest to a casual outfitTry mixing prints – like this scarf and cardigan – all practical but adding a level of interest and flamboyance.

You Do Not Have to Become Boring

Just because you are a mum or grandmother does not mean your style has to go down the tubes.

You do not have to fade into the background.
You do not have to default to dull.
You do not have to shrink yourself.

You can be practical.
You can be comfortable.
You can be washable.
And you can still be flamboyant.

The key is not abandoning who you are.

It is refining how you express it in a way that works beautifully with the life you are living right now.

And that is grown-up style.

Not Sure What Your Style is?

Sometimes we can get lost in the practical and lose what our personal style really is. We no longer really know what we aesthetically enjoy, particularly when we’ve been dressing a body that has changed shape and size.  Rediscover your style with my Visualise Your Style mini-course – in just a few hours, you’ll have rediscovered what it is you visually love so that you can start curating a wardrobe of clothes that express your personal version of flamboyance (or whatever it is that you discover is what you love).

Why We Use Fruit Enzymes – 100% PURE

0

There’s a quiet kind of transformation that arrives with spring—one that doesn’t demand attention, but gently invites it. After months of winter, your skin often feels the shift before you fully notice it. It looks a little duller, feels slightly uneven, and carries a kind of heaviness that wasn’t there before.

This isn’t a flaw. It’s a natural response.

During colder months, your skin’s renewal cycle slows down. Dead skin cells accumulate on the surface, forming a barrier that not only dulls your complexion but also prevents light from reflecting evenly. This is why your glow seems to disappear—and why even your most trusted skincare products don’t seem to absorb the same way.

Spring becomes the perfect moment to begin again.

But renewal doesn’t have to come through harsh methods. In fact, the healthiest transformation often begins with the gentlest approach.

This is where fruit enzymes come in.

As a natural enzyme exfoliantfruit enzymes offer a refined alternative to traditional exfoliation. Instead of scrubbing or forcing dead skin away, they work intelligently—breaking down the bonds that hold those cells together so they can release naturally.

The result is not just smoother skin, but softer, clearer, and more balanced skin that reflects light beautifully.

This philosophy is at the heart of the Spring Skin Awakening.

It’s not about stripping your skin to create change.
It’s about supporting it—allowing it to function the way it was designed to.

When you begin your routine with theVirgin Coconut Moisturizing Milk Foam, you’re already setting the tone. It gently cleanses while maintaining hydration, preparing your skin for what comes next.

Because true renewal doesn’t start with intensity.

It starts with softness.

Why Your Skin Prefers Enzymes Over Scrubs

Exfoliation is often seen as a quick fix—a way to instantly smooth the skin and restore brightness. But the method you choose matters more than the result you’re chasing.

Mechanical exfoliation, like scrubs, relies on friction. Tiny particles are massaged across the skin to physically remove dead cells. While this can create an immediate feeling of smoothness, it often comes at a cost.

These particles can create microscopic tears in the skin barrier—tiny, invisible disruptions that weaken your skin over time. As the barrier becomes compromised, your skin loses moisture more easily, becomes more sensitive, and may even produce more oil to compensate.

The result? A cycle of irritation rather than improvement.

Fruit enzymes offer a completely different approach.

Instead of scrubbing, they dissolve.

They target keratin—the protein that acts like glue between dead skin cells—and gently break it down. This allows those cells to release naturally, without force or friction.

Think of it like softening something before removing it, rather than scraping it away.

This is why enzymatic exfoliation is often described as “digesting” dead skin. It’s precise, controlled, and incredibly gentle.

For those looking for gentle exfoliation for sensitive skin, this method is especially beneficial. It removes buildup without disturbing the skin barrier, allowing your skin to remain calm, hydrated, and balanced.

Over time, this approach creates a more stable environment for your skin. Instead of reacting to harsh treatments, it begins to regulate itself more effectively.

And when your skin is balanced, it doesn’t just look better—it functions better.

This is why the shift from scrubs to enzymes isn’t just a trend.

It’s a smarter, more sustainable way to care for your skin.

In addition, enzymes support a more even and predictable renewal cycle. Rather than over-exfoliating certain areas and neglecting others, they work uniformly across the skin’s surface. This helps improve overall texture and reduces the chances of patchiness or sensitivity. Over time, your skin begins to feel consistently smooth—not just immediately after exfoliation, but day after day—making softness a lasting result rather than a temporary effect.

The Tropical Power of Papaya and Pineapple

Nature has already perfected the art of gentle exfoliation—and it comes from some of its most vibrant sources: tropical fruits.

Among the most effective are papaya and pineapple, both rich in naturally occurring enzymes that refine and renew the skin.

Papaya contains papain, an enzyme known for its ability to break down protein bonds in dead skin cells. It works gradually, making it ideal for smoothing texture without overwhelming the skin.

Pineapple contains bromelain, a slightly more active enzyme that not only exfoliates but also helps calm inflammation. This dual function makes it particularly beneficial for skin that feels both dull and reactive.

Together, these enzymes create a balanced, effective system of renewal.

This is why papaya and pineapple enzymes for skin are so widely celebrated—they offer visible results without compromising comfort.

Deep Nourishment: The Vitamin C Glow Max Bright Mask

While fruit enzymes handle the heavy lifting of exfoliation in many routines, our Vitamin C Glow Max Bright Mask focuses on a different kind of transformation. Instead of enzymatic activity, this formula relies on a potent blend of Vitamin C (Ascorbyl Palmitate), Bakuchiol, and Coenzyme Q10.

Its jelly-like texture allows these antioxidants to remain in close contact with the skin. Rather than drying down and pulling, this formula stays soft and hydrating. As the mask works:

  • Bakuchiol helps refine the look of skin texture.
  • Vitamin C and Sea Buckthorn Oil work to lift the appearance of dullness.
  • Coenzyme Q10 supports the skin’s natural resilience.

What’s revealed is a clearer, more refined surface that reflects light more evenly. The process feels nourishing, not depleting, helping your skin hold onto its brightness longer.

Creating a Smooth Canvas for Hydration

Exfoliation prepares the skin, but what follows determines the outcome. Once buildup is removed, your skin becomes a sponge for active ingredients.

This process begins with proper cleansing.

TheVirgin Coconut Moisturizing Milk Foam gently removes impurities while maintaining your skin’s natural moisture balance. This ensures that your skin is clean but not stripped—creating the ideal environment for enzymatic exfoliation.

Next, the Vitamin C Glow Max Bright Mask refines the surface, clearing the path for deeper absorption.

Once this step is complete, your skin is ready to receive targeted treatment.

The Brightening Serum, enriched with vitamin C and fruit antioxidants, penetrates more effectively into freshly exfoliated skin. It works to even out skin tone, enhance radiance, and protect against environmental stressors.

Without proper exfoliation, much of this potential would be lost.

Finally, theVitamin C Face Cream locks in hydration and reinforces the skin barrier. This step ensures that your skin remains soft, smooth, and resilient.

Hydration plays a crucial role in how your skin reflects light. Well-moisturized skin appears plumper and more luminous, enhancing the effects of exfoliation.

Together, these steps create a complete system:
Cleanse → Exfoliate → Treat → Hydrate

Each step supports the next, creating results that feel cohesive and long-lasting.

Over time, this layered approach strengthens your skin’s ability to retain moisture on its own. Instead of relying solely on products for hydration, your skin becomes more efficient at maintaining balance. This leads to longer-lasting softness, improved texture, and a glow that feels more natural than temporary. When hydration and exfoliation work together consistently, your skin doesn’t just look better after your routine—it continues to look refined and radiant throughout the day.

A Total Eye and Face Transformation

Radiance is not limited to one area of the face—it’s a collective effect.

When your skin appears dull, the eye area often looks more tired as well. Shadows seem deeper, fine lines more noticeable, and the overall expression less vibrant.

But when you remove that layer of dullness from the face, something shifts.

Light reflects more evenly across the skin. Your complexion appears smoother and clearer. And as a result, the eye area begins to look brighter—even before applying targeted treatments.

This is where theVitamin C Eye Creamenhances the transformation.

Applied after exfoliation and hydration, it works more effectively because the surrounding skin is already refined and receptive. It helps brighten the under-eye area, soften fine lines, and restore a sense of vitality.

The key here is harmony.

Rather than treating the eye area in isolation, you’re supporting the entire face—creating a balanced, unified appearance.

This holistic approach leads to more natural-looking results. Instead of dramatic, isolated changes, your skin appears consistently healthy and radiant.

Over time, this consistency becomes the foundation of your skin’s appearance.

And that’s what creates true transformation—not quick fixes, but lasting balance.

What’s often overlooked is how strongly the eye area responds to overall skin health. When circulation improves and surface texture becomes smoother, the under-eyes no longer have to “compete” with surrounding dullness. This allows brightness to naturally return to the face in a more subtle, believable way. Combined with hydration and antioxidant support, the eye area begins to look more awake, rested, and naturally lifted—even without heavy makeup or additional correction.

Conclusion

Spring is a season of renewal—but renewal doesn’t have to be harsh to be effective.

Fruit enzymes offer a softer, more intelligent way to exfoliate—one that respects your skin rather than challenging it.

They dissolve dead skin instead of scrubbing it away.
They refine without damaging.
They reveal without forcing change.

This is the enzyme advantage.

By choosing a natural exfoliantyou’re not just improving your skin’s texture—you’re supporting its long-term health and resilience.

And over time, this approach creates something deeper than surface-level results.

Your skin becomes more balanced.
More resilient.
More naturally radiant.

Softness becomes your new standard—not as a temporary effect, but as a reflection of healthy skin.

So this spring, let go of the idea that stronger is better.

Step away from harsh scrubs.

Embrace a gentler approach.

Because the glow you’re looking for isn’t something you need to create.

It’s something you reveal.

With consistent use of our mentioned products, this philosophy becomes a lived experience rather than just an idea. Each step works in harmony to support renewal, hydration, and radiance, helping your skin maintain its natural glow throughout the season and beyond.

FAQ Section

Are fruit enzymes safe for daily use?

Fruit enzymes are gentle but still active, so daily use isn’t usually necessary. Most skin types benefit from an enzyme exfoliant about 2–3 times per week. For non-enzymatic treatments like the Vitamin C Glow Max Bright Maskyou can also use it 2–3 times weekly to infuse the skin with Bakuchiol and Vitamin C for a radiant glow.

Will I feel a tingling sensation with an enzyme mask?

A mild tingling sensation can be normal when using fruit enzymes. This happens as ingredients like papain and bromelain begin breaking down dead skin cells. However, with the Vitamin C Glow Max Bright Maskwhich uses Bakuchiol and Vitamin C rather than enzymes, the sensation is typically very soothing and hydrating. If you ever feel intense burning, rinse immediately.

Can fruit enzymes help with clogged pores?

Yes, fruit enzymes can help keep pores clear by dissolving the buildup of dead skin cells that often leads to congestion. By gently exfoliating the surface, they prevent debris and oil from getting trapped in pores.

While they don’t deeply extract like some stronger treatments, they play an important role in maintaining smooth, refined skin over time. When combined with hydrating products like the Brightening Serum and Vitamin C Face Cream, they help create a clearer, more balanced complexion.

For glowy skin that catches the light just right, Rare Beauty’s Positive Light Silky Touch Highlighter (a 2025 Best of Beauty Award winner) gives a silky, semi-sheer wash thanks to ultrafine mica. Our editors have called it “candlelight you can swipe on.” You can keep it subtle or build it up, with shades ranging from pearly to peachy, and the finish shifts depending on your tool, from mirror-like with a brush to diffused with a damp sponge. “This highlighter (I have shade Flaunt) is so light and fine that it feels like you’re applying air,” says senior art director Ingrid Fowler. “You only need a little bit to get a glimmery, shimmery—but not too shimmery—payoff.”

Ilia

Eye Stylus Shadow Stick

What’s not to love about an eye shadow stick? No brushes, no blending skills—just swipe and go, which makes it especially beginner-friendly. Ilia’s Eye Stylus Shadow Stick makes it even easier, with 20 matte and shimmer shades inspired by Renaissance paintings (think burnished gold and moody black pearl). “They are game-changers because they take 10 seconds to apply and blend out with my ring finger (incredible!), and there’s a mix of my usual gold/pearl shimmers and fun colors, like this matte lilac called Nymph, that brighten my eyes with almost no effort,” says commerce editor Sarah Han.

Kylie Cosmetics’ Skin Tint Blurring Elixir is peak no-makeup makeup. The 2025 Best of Beauty Award winner delivers an airbrushed finish that stays smooth and weightless on skin. “I absolutely love this skin tint, especially for the summer, since the lightweight coverage doesn’t feel overbearing in the heat,” says creative producer Sydney Malone. If glowy skin is your goal, light-reflecting silica and mica blur texture while hyaluronic acid keeps things hydrated.

Allure senior writer Elizabeth Gulino applying the Tarte Tartelette Tubing Mascara

Tarte

Tartlet Tubing Mascara

If you love the look of strip lashes but not the messy glue (or commitment), Tarte’s Tartelette Tubing Mascara gets you surprisingly close. Conditioning shea butter and castor oil pair up with lifting plant waxes to boost length and fullness. “I particularly love how it lengthens my lashes, and I feel like I can put a few coats on without it getting clumpy or spider-y looking,” says senior staff writer Elizabeth Gulino. “It never smudges or flakes off on my eyes, which is a huge pet peeve of mine and one of the reasons I exclusively use tubing mascara.” It comes in six shades, including a burgundy we’re very into right now.

Why Now is the Time for Your First Skin Check

Mark has been sharing his story in partnership with Apex for years in hopes that people who look like him and have had sun exposure like he did will hear him.

“I don’t care if you’re 12 or 90. It doesn’t matter. There’s nobody at Apex that hasn’t seen whatever you have going on,” he shares. “There’s no embarrassment, there’s no shame. Apex Skin is here for you.”

Through radio commercials, TV spots, and most visibly, as the emcee of Miles for Melanoma, the annual 5K event that Apex Skin presents each year, Mark’s story has resonated with thousands of people.

“Inevitably, every year, one, two, three people will come up to me and say they’ve heard me talk about Apex and that’s why they’re at the tent, getting a check,” he says. “That makes me feel good. It makes me happy that some people made that decision because they heard my voice or saw my face.”

Simply put, there is never a bad time to start taking care of your skin. No matter the agecondition or years of damage, the Apex team is here to help.

“I had a patient come in today for their first skin check,” Sevilla shares. “They were 75. It is never too late. Most of what we find in dermatology is highly treatable when caught early. Come in, let us take a look and then we’ll talk about what comes next.”

Ready to schedule your full body skin exam? Apex Skin’s board-certified providers are here for patients at every stage whether it’s your first check or your thirtieth. With 15 locations in Northern Ohio from Ashtabula to Lorain and from Canton to Mayfield Heights, getting started has never been easier.

Here are my top makeup recommendations by category.

Primers/Complexion Enhancers

I still don’t typically use primers since I prefer to use a moisturizer that multi-tasks. Here are the multi-taskers I use that you can use as a primer or complexion enhancer.

Charlotte Tilbury Unreal Skin Sheer Glow Tint Stick – This is a glowy foundation stick I initially thought would be a glittery mess on the skin. It’s on the emollient side but not sticky. A few readers messaged me about this and told me they used it as an all over primer base and added concealer + powder on top for their perfect natural glow. I tried their tips and loved the look.

One/Size by Patrick Starrr Base Thinner – I tried the Bronze base thinner after receiving a press sample and fell head over heels in love with it. It’s a multi-tasking product you can use as a number of ways, but I like to mix it in with my favorite foundations to sheer them out for a more natural glowy look. I bought Pearlescent Pink to try. Bronze definitely is darker than my skin tone and gives it a bronzed look while the Pearlescent Pink is more natural looking.

Saie Glowy Super Gel – Another favorite I love for dry skin or if your foundations start to look dry or patchy. I like to mix in one pump of this with a liquid foundation to give it a bit more glow.

Refy Glow and Sculpt Face Serum Primer – One of the few primers I like because it has a lighter weight feel to it and it’s not heavy.

Best Foundations

Best Foundation Formulas at Sephora - Dior, It Cosmetics, Armani and m.ph

These are my top 4 in rotation from Sephora.

Dior Forever Skin Perfect Foundation Stick – This is my most-worn foundation since 2024. I do have to mix shades sometimes but right now 3N is my perfect match. Love the coverage, how it blends and convenience of application. (P.S. I tried the new Forever Skin Glow Foundation formula and it’s very drying on my skin, even though it’s supposed to be “glowy.”) In action here.

It Cosmetics CC+ Nude Glow Lightweight Foundation SPF 40 – This is still the best CC+ cream with SPF because it’s not as thick as most CC+ formulas.

Armani Luminous Silk Foundation – The new formula performs the same as the original on me. Still love this for a naturally glowy finish that isn’t’ too glowy. See it in action here.

m.ph Le Skin Weightless Serum Foundation – Love this newer formula. I don’t think I would really describe it as truly “weightless” as I definitely feel it on my skin once it sets. I still love for medium natural looking coverage. I’m in between shades 150 and 170 (I have to mix). Demo here.

Best Concealers

Best Concealers Prada, YSL, Natasha Denona and Ilia

I don’t always use a concealer these days because I find that the foundations I use have enough coverage for me. These are my top picks from Sephora.

Prada Beauty Micro-Correcting Concealer – This is a nice lightweight medium coverage blurring concealer. I really like this under the eyes! Demo and swatches here.

YSL Touche Eclat Concealer Pen – This is still my favorite under eye brightening concealer. It has a thinner formula but is glowy and emollient. It won’t cover dark circles but I really like it for brightening.

Natasha Denona Hy-Glam Concealer – This is the best multi-tasking creamy concealer. I like that it doesn’t crease or cake. It is also very long lasting which I love.

Ilia Skin Blur Serum Concealer – This is a new formula which has pretty good coverage for under the eyes. Not too thick but not sheer. It’s blurring and self setting. Love the Ilia and Hourglass concealer brushes.

Powder/Set

Best Setting Powder Laura Mercier

I’ve only been using one brand of setting powder these days which is the Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder. I like both the Original and Talc-Free formulas. This is one of the few loose powder formulas that doesn’t look like it has a white cast on my skin.

Favorite Blushes

BEst Blush Formulas Sephora

I have so many blush favorites. I love trying new shades and formulas, but if I had to pick just 5 these would be my picks.

Patrick Ta Major Headlines Double-Take Crème + Powder Duo – Love the colors they have and the fact that you can layer the cream on top of powder or just wear them separately. I bring at least one shade on trips with me. Select shades are also available in mini sizes.

Prada Touch Cream-To-Powder Soft Blur Blushes are new and I love them. These are cream blushes that dry down to a nice satin finish. I like applying with fingers. I have only tried Peach and Tulip so far but I love the tones and will review and swatch all the shades I picked up before the sale ends. (Peach on the face hereboth shades applied here.)

YSL Make Me Blush (powder) is my go-to powder blush of choice these days. The shimmers and mattes are SO beautiful. They have a silky smooth texture that is just so beautiful. If I had to pick one color, 44B Nude Lavalliere is it! Review + swatches here.

Armani Luminous Silk Cheek Tint is the best long-wear formula for a liquid blush. Most other formulas just don’t last but these have a nice dry down and stay put without looking of feeling heavy.

rhode Pocket Blush – I think these are my favorite for a cream blush formula. They are so easy to pop onto the face and blend. I usually bring Freckle and Piggy with me on trips.

Bronzer

Best Cream Bronzers

Dior Forever Skin Bronze Bronzing Balm Stick – If you buy one cream bronzer, buy the one from Dior. Swatches of three shades here, but this is the best satin finish cream bronzer I’ve tried and I really like the colors. They’re not too orange, not too cool toned, they’re just perfect! Swatches here.

Makeup By Mario SoftSculpt Transforming Skin Enhancer – This is a natural cream bronzer, very similar in concept to the Merit stick one. I love this because it looks SO natural on the skin.

Merit Bronze Balm Sheer Sculpting Bronzer – Also been reaching for this even though I initially felt it was way too sheer for my taste. I’ve been trying to go lighter on the bronzer and I think it’s more flattering on my skin tone to go sheerer.

Best Highlighters

Sarah Creal Today’s Highlights Peptide Balm – This is the best glowy dewy highlight I’ve tried because it’s not sticky or tacky in feel. It’s a balm but it’s a smooth one. Finish is sheer and natural looking and makes the skin just GLOW.

Hourglass Unreal Radiant Glow Liquid Highlighter – Just swatched these here, but a more detailed review to come very soon! This is a new formula from Hourglass along with a new Highlighter Brush. For a liquid highlight it’s 10/10. Finish is smooth and easy to control. Not too frosty or glittery on the skin and it has a nice dry down. Swatches here.

Dior Forever Glow Maximizer Liquid – This will forever be a favorite. If I had to pick one it would be either Peachy or Nude.

Prada Light Glowing Highlighter Powder – Love this for a powder highlight – the glow is so beautiful! Swatches here.

Eyeshadow Loves

Natasha Denona anything is incredible, I really still love I Need a Warm and I Need a Nude (swatches here and here).

Prada Dimensions Multi-Effect Refillable Eyeshadow in 8 Pansy is my favorite palette of the year so far (swatches here).

Merit Solo Shadow – Love these for a one and done kind of shadow. Top 3 picks are Vachetta, Glace and Surrealism.

For an all-matte palette the Makeup by Mario Master Mattes Original is tied with the Patrick Ta Matte Palettes (I like all the shades but Medium is my go-to).

Eyeliner/Mascara/Brow

Tarte Tartelette Tubing Mascaras

Anastasia Brow Definer – This is a classic but I just ordered the ArchiBrow Microblade Detailing Pencil and I love it, the packaging is really innovative and the application is super detailed/fine.

Glossier Boy Brow Arch Pencil – Another favorite for the formula but there isn’t enough product in the pencil! This gets used up SO fast I stopped repurchasing.

Tarte Tartelette Tubing XL – Still the best non-smudging mascara I’ve tried.

Diorshow Overvolume Extreme Volume Waterproof – Love this new formula even more than other Dior mascara formulas.

Lipgloss

As a lip gloss lover it is hard for me to narrow down my favorites, but I keep going back to these five.

Dior Addict Lip Maximizer – Dior lip gloss lover for LIFE!!!!!

REFY Lip Gloss – They have THE best neutral tones.

Lawless Forget the Filler Gloss – Some of the shades are too pale for me, but I swear by Cherry Vanilla for that glossy pout.

Sarah Creal – I really love this formula and the colors. They’re fresh and give just the right amount of color. These are the ones I brought with me on all my trips last year.

Tinted Lip Balms/Oils

Dior Addict Lip Glow Oil new formula 2026

I will spare no expense to try the latest and greatest in balms or oils.

Patrick Ta Major Moisture Tinted Lip Balm – This has been a pleasant surprise for me! I like that there is a good amount of pigment in these for a balm. Pink Salted Caramel on the lips here.

Summer Fridays Lip Butter – A classic I always have in my purse. Love the limited-edition duo they launched recently.

YSL anything – This is the time to save! I love these but they’re expensive. I actually can’t get over how expensive lip products are these days. I still remember when Tom Ford launched a $50 lipstick and everyone was OUTRAGED. Now it seems like nearly everything is near this price point.

Dior Lip Glow Oil – Love the new formula for that cushiony glassy finish. Swatches in this post here.

My Go-To Lipsticks

YSL Candy Glaze Lip Gloss Stick Review

YSL Candy Glaze, but really YSL anything! I feel like they consistently release top tier formulas and colors. Especially love the Candy Glaze in Shade 13.

Prada Monochrome Soft Matte Blur Lipstick – Still the best matte lipstick formula I’ve tried.

Dior Rouge Dior On Stage Lipstick – Iconic Rose is the best nude pink.

Gucci Glow and Care Shine Lipstick – A classic I can’t live without especially Sally Soft Honey or Julie Blush.

NARS Afterglow Sensual Shine Lipstick – Love this for a glossy finish.

Lip Liner

New Tom Ford Lip Liner

I am testing several new lip liner formulas right now so I don’t know I can say which is THE best right now. I still really love Tom Ford Beauty and Dior. Will keep you posted on the new ones I test soon!

This wraps up my makeup recommendations! I know it’s a lengthy roundup but I wanted to cover all the categories!

GloRilla: Inside the Viral Courtside Style Moment

0

If you have been keeping up with the Raptors lately, you know the real heat isn’t just coming from the court—it is coming from the front row! Our girl GloRilla has been absolutely living her best life as the ultimate cheerleader, and her latest courtside appearance has the internet in a literal chokehold. Watching the GloRilla Brandon Ingram romance flourish has been so sweet, especially seeing her front and center for all those clutch game winners. There is just something about a woman in her “happy era” that makes her glow different, and Big Glo is officially the blueprint for that supportive WAG energy we all love to see.

Let’s talk about this hair because the details were immaculate! For the recent matchup against the Heat, Glo switched it up from her usual fiery red waves and opted for a ultra-sleek, side-parted low bun. The finish was so reflective it basically looked like glass, and that perfectly laid swoop in the front added just the right amount of “it girl” drama. It is such a sophisticated pivot for her, proving she can go from Memphis street style to high-fashion glamour without breaking a sweat. It is the kind of polished look that says “I am the prize,” and we are definitely taking notes for our own date night mood boards.

The fashion was equally legendary, with Glo rocking a bold, oversized orange leather jacket that matched her vibrant energy. She kept the base layer simple with a sleek black mini dress to show off those gym-toned legs, but it was the accessories that really did the talking. We are talking about a matching orange croc Hermès Kelly bag and a custom “God’s Plan” phone case that had everyone in the comments asking for the link. Between the coordinated colors and the diamond chains, she was serving pure luxury from head to toe. It is clear that whether she is on stage or sitting sideline, Big Glo is always going to be the main event.
