What is Hildun Beauty Silk to Set Longwear Lip Pencil?

The Hildun Beauty Silk to Set Lip Pencil is a long-wear, creamy lip liner designed to define, shape, and enhance your lips. It combines rich pigment with a silky texture that glides effortlessly, sets quickly to a semi-matte finish, and stays put for hours without drying out the lips.

It’s versatile enough to:

  • Be worn alone for soft, natural definition
  • Layer under a lipstick or balm for a polished, full-lip look
  • Create lip contour, shape, or even a soft ombré effect

Essentially, it’s a luxurious, everyday lip liner that doesn’t compromise on comfort or wear, exactly the kind of product that makes your routine feel a little more polished without fuss.

My Review of Hildun Beauty Silk to Set Longwear Lip Pencil

Formula & Wear

I’m obsessed with how soft and buttery these glide on. There’s no chalky tug you sometimes get with lip liners. The formula is creamy enough to blend before setting, yet once it sets, it doesn’t budge. The finish is soft, smoother than a traditional lip liner but still pigmented like a proper contour liner should be.

These pencils are buttery yet structured enough to hold a sharp tip for precise application. They glide easily and build nicely for more intensity if you want it.

My one tip: keep a sharpener handy for clean, precise lines, it makes a noticeable difference with these creamy pencils.

The formula is where these pencils really stand out. They are soft and silky, making application effortless, but set quickly enough to prevent feathering. Unlike many long-wear liners, they don’t dry out the lips, and the colour remains true from morning coffee to evening plans.

How I Wear Them:

  • Alone: Gives a soft, semi-matte finish. Perfect for everyday polished lips.
  • With Balm: Adds moisture and shine without compromising longevity. Ideal for dry lips or a glossier look.

My favourite shade is Hayley because it makes such a gorgeous natural looking lip contour and pairs beautifully with my REESON Glossing Balm in Dewy Rose*.

Final Thoughts

The Hildun Beauty Silk to Set Lip Pencils are a lovely, reliable option for anyone looking for creamy, long-lasting liners that don’t dry out the lips. They’re versatile enough for everyday use and polished enough to complement a layered look with balm or lipstick. Hayley is my current obsession and I find that my lips look fuller and I generally just look more put together when I wear it. It has earned a permanent place in my makeup bag along with the Hildun sharpener.

Sapphire Blue Hair & Alternatives to Manic Panic

Sapphire Blue Hair and Manic Panic Alternatives by Cordelia Frost, indie beauty and alternative fashion expert

Hello beautiful people! Today I’m sharing my sapphire blue hair with you. I had neon pink and black for several years. In December 2025, I went to blue and purple and gave Attitude Hair Dye in Brave a try. And now I’m shades of blue and black. I saw the amazing Kayla at the Color Keizersgracht in Amsterdam for my color update. She also gave me a trim and took a few inches of length off my very long hair, but don’t worry. It’s still past my hip bones in length.

While we used Manic Panic Atomic Turquoise and After Midnight Blue, after Manic Panic’s recent foray into AI, abandoning their punk roots, Manic Panic has lost me as a customer of 30 years. Manic Panic claimed that they were forced to use AI because it’s built into tools (spoiler alert: it may be built in but you still have to CHOOSE to use them), rather than pay an artist to be extra creative for their space themed release.

My Thoughts on AI

AI should not be used to steal work from creatives; rather it should be used to cure cancer and eradicate diseases, as well as fix climate change. AI is a tool that can be used to speed up creatives and programmers that you hire, but not replace them completely. And it’s disgusting to me that billionaires (who should not exist in the first place and only do because they’re stealing from everyone else) want to kill off a significant portion of the population of people, all because they don’t want to pay fair, living wages to employees.

Manic Panic’s Response to Me

I reached out to Manic Panic to express my displeasure at their use of AI. “I’ve been using your products for 3 decades. If you’re going to continue to use AI, I’ll have to stop being a fan.” Their response, “Totally fair.” They didn’t explicitly state they would stop using it in their reply to me. They’ve faced a lot of backlash over using AI to promote their new line, and they were extremely rude to customers who pointed out how using AI is not cruelty free and is, in fact, hurting the environment. When they did finally release an apology, it felt hollow, and more along the lines of ‘we’re sorry you caught us and are mad’ more than ‘we’re sorry and will never do this again.’

Who do you recommend instead of Manic Panic?

Blue and black hair on Cordelia Frost, alternative beauty expertBlue and black hair on Cordelia Frost, alternative beauty expert

I recommend Attitude Hair Dye if you’re in Europe, instead of Manic Panic, because they don’t use AI. I have several bottles of Manic Panic left that I’ll be using up, but once that’s gone, it’s Attitude Hair Dye for me.

What are the best alternatives to Manic Panic?

Below is a full list of brands that I can recommend as alternatives to Manic Panic:

  • Attitude Hair Dye (EU: Dutch)
  • Joico (EU / UK)
  • Stargazer (EU/UK)
  • Crazy Color (UK)
  • Directions (UK)
  • Punky Color (USA)
  • Lunar Tides (USA)
  • Pulp Riot (USA)
  • Good Dye Young (USA)

So if you’ve been a Manic Panic dye hard fan for years, as I have, don’t be afraid to try a new brand. You might love them even more!

What are the color equivalents of the shades you used?

The Manic Panic Atomic Turquoise equivalent in Attitude Hair Dye is Brave, while the MP equivalent to After Midnight in Attitude is Moody. And who knows, I might decide to throw some green or teal into my hair in the future. If I do that, I’ll use Attitude Hair Dye Toxic Neon UV (neon green) or Free UV (spring green).

Shades of Blue and Black Hair

Alternative Beauty, blue and black hair, by Cordelia FrostAlternative Beauty, blue and black hair, by Cordelia Frost

I am so in love with my blue and black hair. The roots are the brightest and lightest, while the formerly pink and later purple sections are a dark indigo blue. And there’s a blue-toned black used throughout. To me this color story is very cohesive.

My go-to lipstick with this hair color is Black Moon Cosmetics Sorrow Liquid Lipstick. It matches beautifully! Sorrow, a blackened blue, makes my teeth appear whiter than using a traditional black lipstick. I find it much more flattering on my very fair neutral cool skin tone.

Why does blue make your teeth appear whiter?

Blue makes your teeth appear whiter because teeth have yellow undertones naturally. Blue and Yellow are both primary colors and they are opposite each other on the color wheel, so they cancel each other out. This makes your teeth appear whiter.

What Hair Products Do You Use?

Here are all the hair products I currently use to keep my color vivid and my hair healthy. I rely heavily on Joico to keep my hair soft as silk. Everything was purchased by me and all opinions are my own.

Joico InnerJoi Hydrate Shampoo for Dry Hair and Scalp

Joico InnerJoi Hydrate Shampoo for Dry Hair and Scalp – This is my favorite shampoo. It’s sulfate free, paraben free, vegan, and very hydrating. Treat rainbow as as fragile platinum blonde hair and you will do well. I wash my hair every 5 to 7 days.

Joico K-PAK Color Therapy Luster Lock Instant Shine & Repair Treatment

Joico K-PAK Color Therapy Luster Lock Instant Shine & Repair Treatment – I love this hair mask! It has keratin and argan oil in it. I use it every single time I wash my hair to hydrate it. I’ve been using it for well over 6 years at this point because it is part of what helped my hair be strong and healthy so that I could grow it longer than my shoulder blades.

Joico Weekend Hair Dry Shampoo

Joico Weekend Hair Dry Shampoo – I use this in between washes when my hair needs a pick me up.

Kenra Platinum Blow-Dry Spray

Kenra Platinum Blow-Dry Spray – This is what I’m currently using for heat protectant. It smells wonderful.

Ouai Wave Spray

Ouai Wave Spray – With coconut oil and rice protein, I’ve been using this spray to add texture, volume and shine to my hair.

Cocoa Pink Ends With Argan Benefits

Cocoa Pink Ends With Argan Benefits – I love this lightweight detangling leave-in conditioner spray that smells like my favorite perfumes. I don’t know what I’m going to do when it runs out because I don’t think Cocoa Pink ships to the Netherlands. I’ve been using it for years and it’s fantastic, especially for the ends of my hair.

Olaplex No. 4C Bond Maintenance Clarifying Shampoo

Olaplex No. 4C Bond Maintenance Clarifying Shampoo – I use this maybe once a month. I prefer to use it prior to getting my hair dyed and any time that I feel like there is buildup on my hair from the hard water here in Europe.

Olaplex Nº. 6 Bond Smoother: Leave-In Styling Treatment

Olaplex Nº. 6 Bond Smoother: Leave-In Styling Treatment – I like to use this smoothing, frizz control treatment directly after I get out of the shower to help minimize frizz. I use it every time I wash my hair.

Final Thoughts

Sapphire Blue Hair & Alternatives to Manic PanicSapphire Blue Hair & Alternatives to Manic Panic

I’m glad I decided to make a change from pink and black to blue and black. While both hair colors are cool toned, I can’t help but feel like the blue is more flattering overall.

I’m so disappointed in Manic Panic, but I’m grateful that other good indie alternative hair dye brands exist, such as Attitude Hair Dye.

SPF Meets Hydration in These Multitasking Moisturizers

0

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the best ingredients to look for in a moisturizer with SPF?

Like all sunscreens, a moisturizer with SPF will contain chemical and/or mineral UV filters to protect your skin against the sun’s harmful UVA and UVB rays, which can lead to signs of aging, such as fine lines, and, on a larger scale, skin cancer. We adhere to the American Academy of Dermatology’s (AAD) guidelines and only recommend sunscreens with broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher. However, your sunscreen-day cream hybrid will contain at least one of the following ingredients for long-lasting hydration:

Niacinamide

We consider niacinamide to be one of the gold-standard multitaskers in skin care. This antioxidant, also known as vitamin B3, evens skin tone and minimizes the look of hyperpigmentation while also supplying hydration and supporting the skin barrier. “Niacinamide works with your skin’s natural chemistry to improve overall skin texture by rebuilding a lipid layer, minimizing the appearance of pores, and preventing UV damage and inflammation,” Seattle-based board-certified dermatologist Brandith Irwin, MD, previously told Allure.

Hyaluronic acid

Hyaluronic acid is the queen of hydration. This gentle, sensitive-skin-friendly ingredient acts as a powerful humectant, which means it attracts and binds water to the surface layer of skin, therefore hydrating it. “[Hyaluronic acid is] great at holding water and giving skin resilience and firmness,” says New York City-based board-certified dermatologist Doris Day, MD.

Ceramides

To replenish and seal in much-needed moisture, many creams depend on ceramides. “Ceramides are fatty acids in the skin that help to maintain the skin barrier and retain moisture and hydration,” Dr. Idriss previously explained to Allure. They’re also soothing ingredients to look out for when treating skin conditions like eczema.

How should I apply a moisturizer with SPF?

As with any other sunscreen, you still need to reapply these formulas throughout the day, every two hours, to be specific, to stay protected. (Oh, and wearing sunscreen indoors is also non-negotiable.) Claire Chang, MD, a board-certified dermatologist in New York City, reminds us, “Most adults need about one ounce of sunscreen (a shot glass full) to fully cover the body.” For your face and neck, Dr. Chang says that equates to about 0.3 teaspoons, or the size of two nickels. And don’t forget commonly missed areas, like your eyelids, ears, and chest.

Is a moisturizer with SPF as good as wearing sunscreen?

As long as the moisturizer in question has the AAD’s recommended broad-spectrum SPF 30 rating or higher, and you’re applying enough (as outlined above), it’s on par. If moisturizers with SPF motivate you to wear the damn SPF, all the more power to you and them.

“Hybrid skin-care products have gained popularity recently as consumers are trying to simplify their skin-care routines,” says Dr. Chang. “SPF-infused moisturizers are a direct result of the desire to do more with less.” She also reassures us that just because there’s an added benefit of broad-spectrum sun protection, it does not mean these moisturizers are thicker in texture or pore-clogging. What’s more, she confirms SPF-infused moisturizers are “regulated and tested by the same Food and Drug Administration (FDA) procedures as sunscreens,” so they’re not more diluted in terms of protection.

How we test and review products

When Allure tests a product, our editors look at it from every angle to best serve you. We review ingredients, scrutinize brand claims, and, when necessary, examine peer-reviewed scientific and medical studies. In addition to testing each and every product that’s included in each and every review, we rely on experts who shape their fields, including dermatology, cosmetic chemistry, and medicine, to help us vet the ingredients and formulas.

For our list of the best moisturizers with SPF, we considered each product’s performance across five primary categories: product ingredients and efficacy, packaging, fragrance, texture, and product wear. Every product was determined to have excelled in each category by our editorial team, which is composed of in-house writers and editors as well as contributors—along with special consideration from board-certified dermatologists. To learn more information on our reporting and testing processes, read our complete reviews process and methodology page.

Our staff and testers

A beauty product is a personal purchase. You might be searching for a face cream to address persistent dryness or a new nail product to add to your Sunday self-care routine; you may simply be browsing around for the latest launches to hit the hair market. No matter what you seek or your individual needs and concerns, Allure wants to ensure that you love anything we recommend in our stories. We believe that having a diverse team of writers and editors—in addition to the wide range of outside testers and industry experts we regularly call upon—is essential to reaching that goal.

After all, can we really say a skin-care product is the “best” for people over 50 if the only testers we’ve solicited opinions from folks who have yet to hit 30? Can we honestly deem a high-end diffuser worthy of your hard-earned cash if it’s never been tested on curls? We’re proud that our staff spans a wide range of ages, skin tones, hair textures, genders, and backgrounds, which means that we are able to fairly assess any beauty product that comes into the beauty closet.

  • Designed for easy in-shower use and suitable for all hair types, Nº.3PLUS Complete Repair Treatment fits seamlessly into any routine, making professional-level repair accessible at home.

Jump to

When hair is damaged, dry, or dull, it’s easy to think real repair takes countless hours and treatments, but the truth is that transformative hair health can begin in just 3 minutes.

Meet OLAPLEX® Nº.3PLUS Complete Repair Treatment, the next evolution of our cult-favorite bond treatment, the Nº.3 Hair Perfector®, designed to repair damage past, present, and future, faster than ever. This simple, science-backed ritual fits seamlessly into your routine and delivers stronger, smoother, healthier-looking hair in less time it takes to rinse and repeat.

Why Damaged Hair Needs More Than Moisture

Daily life can take a toll on your hair. Things like heat styling, coloring, environmental stressors, and even brushing can weaken bonds deep inside the hair, and while conditioners help hair feel softer, they don’t always address the structural damage.

That’s where foundational hair health becomes important. Using patented OLAPLEX Bond Building Technology™, the Nº.3PLUS Complete Repair Treatment focuses on repairing the bonds that give hair its strength, shape, and shine rather than masking the damage.

What Makes the Nº.3PLUS Complete Repair Treatment Different?

Nº.3PLUS Complete Repair Treatment is the only pre-shampoo treatment powered by Patented Bond Building Technology™, now enhanced to repair both the cortex and cuticle for complete internal hair repair.

The Results You Can See and Feel

Nº.3PLUS Complete Repair Treatment:

  • Repairs damage in just 3 minutes
  • Instantly revives strength, smoothness, softness, shine, and shape
  • Helps reduce breakage over time
  • Defends hair against future damage
  • Color-safe, vegan, and suitable for all hair types

The Nº.3PLUS Complete Repair Treatment is designed to make repair simple, quick, and easy. Designed for in-shower application, the fast-acting formula works in just 3 minutes to deliver immediate results, leaving hair 3x stronger and 3x softer after one use.

Your 3 Minute Hair Repair Ritual

Consistency is key to healthy hair, and this ritual was designed to be easy and effortless.

Step 1: Apply in the Shower

Get your hair wet, squeezing excess water so that the hair is damp. Apply a generous amount of Nº.3PLUS Complete Repair Treatment from mid-lengths to ends.

Step 2: Wait 3 Minutes

Let the formula get to work repairing bonds and restoring hair health from the inside out.

Step 3: Rinse and Wash

Rinse thoroughly, then follow with OLAPLEX Nº.4 Bond Maintenance® Shampoo and Nº.5 Bond Maintenance® Conditioner.

Style as usual and you’re ready to go! That’s it – no complicated steps, no extra time commitment.

Who Should Use the Nº.3PLUS Complete Repair Treatment?

Everyone should be focused on their internal hair health. OLAPLEX Nº.3PLUS Complete Repair Treatment is designed for all hair types and textures, whether your hair is color-treated, heat-styled, or simply in need of extra strength and shine.

If your hair feels:

  • Dry or brittle
  • Prone to breakage
  • Dull or lacking softness
  • Over-styled or chemically processed

Then you should prioritize building a haircare routine built around strengthening and softening your hair. In addition to adding a pre-treatment, shop by your hair goal to build a complete routine that suits your hair best.

Stronger Hair Starts in 3 Minutes

Healthy hair doesn’t require a complete overhaul of time and effort. With the new OLAPLEX Nº.3PLUS Complete Repair Treatment, just three minutes is all it takes to start transforming your hair from the inside out.

Whether your goal is less breakage, more shine, or hair that feels more resilient, Nº.3PLUS makes professional-level repair accessible at home, and when your hair is foundationally healthy, the rest of your routine is that much easier.

Stronger hair starts in three minutes, but the results will last way longer. Explore routines designed for your unique hair goals, discover products that work together seamlessly, and experience what’s possible when repair starts at the bond level.

Sarah Pidgeon’s Actor Awards Look Was All About “Minimalist Romance”

0

Key Takeaways

  • Makeup artist Emily Cheng told Byrdie all about Sarah Pidgeon’s “minimalist romance” Actor Awards glam.
  • The Love Story actress paired her NuFace-sculpted complexion with some Rhode product teasers and a baby pink gown.

There’s been a lot of talk about what Carolyn Bessette Kennedy might wear/do/like in 2026. That’s silly—we already know exactly what she liked in the ’90s and so much of it is still around to appreciate.

Instead, perhaps we can focus on the tastes of someone who embodies her charm today? Obviously, I’m talking about Love Story star Sarah Pidgeon. She’s gorgeous, she’s chic, and she has the ability to tell us what products she’s currently loving.

On Sunday, March 1, Pidgeon appeared at the 2026 Actor Awards with her cashmere blonde hair softly framing her recently incredibly famous face. Ahead, discover all the details on how her modern-yet-classic glam came to be.

Sarah Pidgeon’s Actor Awards Look

According to makeup artist Emily Cheng, the inspiration for the look was “minimalist romance.”

“We talked about still looking herself,” the beauty expert exclusively tells Byrdie. “Fresh skin and flushed rosiness throughout for makeup to go with her dress.” (A baby pink, strapless Balenciaga balloon number, by the way.)

Before she got going with makeup, Cheng sculpted Pidgeon’s face with her NuFace Trinity+ device.

@emilychengmakeup/instagram

“A pre-makeup sculpt is my ultimate game changer. When the face is already lifted and de-puffed, you can take a much lighter, more modern approach to contour,” the artist explained. “It created the perfect high-shine lifted canvas for a ‘minimal romance’ look—soft, dewy and effortless to complement the pale pink of her dress and the quiet sophistication she’s channeling as Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy.”

Getty Images

How to Get Her “Sleek and Sculpted Glow”

After cleansing, Cheng spread a generous layer of NuFace’s Aqua Gel Activator all over Pidgeon’s face with the brand’s Clean Sweep Applicator Brush. Then, she got to work with the device’s microcurrents.

“I focused three minutes on the jawline and another three minutes sculpting her cheeks, then lastly another three lifting the temples area,” she noted. “After the facial, I wiped off the activator with a hot towel and continued on with skincare.”

Said skincare included Rhode’s Glazing Milk all over the face followed by Peptide Glazing Fluid for “pillowy hydration.” They also made use of the Peptide Eye Prep masks, new Caffeine Reset Sculpting Cream Mask and Peptide Lip Boost Plumping Lip Mask, Barrier Restore Cream, and Barrier Butter Intensive Moisture Balm.

Sarah Pidgeon’s Fresh Makeup

Then, it was time for makeup—a moment marked by a Rhode new launch teaser like no other.

Before she hit the red carpet, Cheng added “a little bit of powder on the T-zone” and buffed out the actress’s lip with Rhode Peptide Lip Shape in the warm taupe shade Twist, plus a dab of a not-yet-released lippie that completed the softer-than-soft blurred lip effect. Her cheeks also received a soft flush courtesy of a top-secret Pocket Blush shade and Cheng’s trusty Beautyblender.

Emily Cheng

Would CBK be a Rhode and NuFace girl? Who’s to say! But Pidgeon is, and that’s information we can do something with.

Sarah Pidgeon’s Easy Updo

More information we can do something with? The exact breakdown of Pidgeon’s effortless wavy ponytail. “The dress inspired everything,” says her hairstylist David von Cannon. “Clean up top, then all that gathering happening low—I wanted the hair to live in that same silhouette.”

Getty Images

To get the look, von Cannon used a full suite of Nexxus products. He started by prepping the actress’s hair with the Medium Hold Mousse and used his fingers to “build natural movement throughout the hair.” He then dried her hair, using flat pins to guide face-framing pieces into his desired shape and allowed them to set.

Once her hair was dry, he applied the Keraphix Liquid Crystallizer Treatment to add shine and create a “soft, piecey texture.” He misted on some Air Shape Workable Hold Texture Spray for light grip, then gathered Pidgeon’s hair into a low, loose knot. The final touch was perfecting those face-framing pieces, and then spritzing with the Comb Thru Flexible Hold Hairspray to keep the style in place all night long.

Hair like this makes us feel confident and beautiful. With the right haircare goals and routine, you may find that living your best hair day every day is easier than you thought.

The Routine for Good Hair Days

The haircare routine for healthier hair is simpler than you think. Check out this routine for your hair that turns heads:

Start with a Bond-Building Treatment

Start your at-home bond rebuilding treatment with Nº.3PLUS Complete Repair Treatment. Nº.3PLUS Complete Repair Treatment immediately revives your hair’s strength, smoothness, softness, shine, and shape. Nº.3PLUS Complete Repair Treatment also makes hair easier to detangle and more resilient to aggressors like:

  • Heat

  • Color
  • Chemical processing
  • Mechanical stress
  • Environmental stress

To use Nº.3PLUS Complete Repair Treatment:

  1. Apply a generous amount from mid-lengths to ends of damp hair.
  2. Leave on for 3 minutes.
  3. Rinse from hair.
  4. Shampoo and condition hair as usual.

You can use Nº.3PLUS Complete Repair Treatment every 1-3 washes.

Follow with a Shampoo and Conditioner That Boosts Manageability

The right shampoo and conditioner duo can help detangle your hair. Try a shampoo like Nº.4 Bond Maintenance® Shampoo, proven to reduce breakage and nourish hair, leaving it smoother, shinier, and more manageable with every wash. It thoroughly cleanses every hair type without stripping or drying your hair or scalp. Follow with Nº.5 Bond Maintenance® Conditioner to moisturize, hydrate, and detangle hair.

Here’s how to use Nº.4 Bond Maintenance® Shampoo and Nº.5 Bond Maintenance® Conditioner together:

  1. Dispense a coin-sized amount of shampoo and apply it to wet hair.
  2. Lather thoroughly, then rinse well.
  3. Dispense and apply Nº.5 Bond Maintenance® Conditioner to the mid-lengths to ends of hair.
  4. Leave the conditioner on for 1-3 minutes, then rinse well.

Summer Fridays’ First-Ever Fragrance Bottles Sunshine

0

Key Takeaways

  • Summer Fridays is releasing their first fine fragrance: Sunlit Vanilla Eau de Parfum.
  • The scent is inspired by their original Lip Butter Balm and the feeling of sun on your skin.

Scent has a strong connection to memory, which can make things confusing depending where/when you spritz a fragrance. It’s still winter, so why do I smell like summer? And is it a random overcast Tuesday or a perfect sun-soaked weekend eve??

Good questions. Let’s ask Summer Fridays.

This month, the brand behind your favorite lip balm is officially launching their first fine fragrance: Sunlit Vanilla Eau de Parfum. Available in two sizes, a travel-friendly 10 mL and a full-size 50 mL bottle, the scent is described as “cozy, yet radiant” and designed to “linger on your skin like sunshine to make it feel like a summer Friday, all year long.”

Keep reading to discover everything there is to know about the sunny new launch.

Summer Fridays

The Inspiration

When creating their first fragrance, vanilla was an obvious focus for co-founders Marianna Hewitt and Lauren Ireland. It’s been with the brand since the beginning.

“Scent and flavor have always been at the heart of Summer Fridays. We’ve loved vanilla since we launched our original Lip Butter Balm in Vanilla in 2020. With many new flavors and shades over the years, it sparked a love for gourmand from our community that’s stayed with us ever since,” they shared in a press release.

Back in 2021, the brand released a limited-edition vanilla rollerball perfume as a holiday exclusive. Ever since, they’ve heard cries of “bring it back” from original fans.

So, here’s the perfume is in its final form: a “cozy, yet radiant” scent “inspired by the endless summer feeling.”

The Scent

Sunlit Vanilla has a top note of bergamot that transitions to a heart of caramel and coconut. At its base, you’ll find vanilla (of course), creamy musk, tonka bean, and amber.

“We’ve long dreamed of creating something that captures the nostalgia of a sweet summer memory. Sunlit Vanilla is that feeling bottled… warmth, comfort, and the ease of Summer Fridays in a fragrance,” the founders added. “We set out to create an elevated, sophisticated vanilla, not just a gourmand you think of wearing in the winter, but something effortlessly wearable all year round.”

Here comes the sun. And the good vanilla.

Crying a Lot Is Good for You, Actually—Here’s What the Science Says About People Who Let the Tears Flow

0

I’m a big crier. The tears flow when I’m feeling sad. Or grateful. Or frustrated. Awestruck, PMS-y, joyous, relieved…. You get the idea. I used to try and hide this tendency like it was something to be embarrassed about. But over time, I’ve come to appreciate my wailing ways for what they are: A healthy, beautiful part of my deeply feeling nature. (Pisces sun, Scorpio moon, hello!)

That said, the idea that crying easily is a sign of emotional fragility, weakness, or instability still gets traction. So I wanted to ask the experts on behalf of all us weeping willows: Is it okay to cry, like, kind of a lot?

“Shame and stigma certainly exists around crying,” psychologist Christina Pierpaoli Parker, PhD, assistant professor in the department of psychiatry and behavioral neurobiology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Marnix E. Heersink School of Medicine, tells SELF. “But for me, that’s just an indictment of our culture’s incredibly poor understanding of emotions.” In other words: It’s a them problem, not a you problem.

So let’s talk about what crying actually does for you—and why shedding a tear (or two) more often than others is not only not a problem, but potentially a wonderful thing.

Why we cry, and why it’s good for us

Crying’s main function is to help us process and express strong emotions, clinical psychologist Lauren Bylsma, PhD, an associate professor of psychiatry and psychology at the University of Pittsburgh who has studied the neurobiology of crying, tells SELF.

This emotional crying is exclusive to our species. “We don’t see this kind of behavior in other living beings,” Grace Tworek, PsyD, a clinical health psychologist at Cleveland Clinic, says. “So expressing our emotions this way is really a part of what makes humans unique.” You might even say that being someone who cries often means you’re thoroughly enjoying your humanity—even if it means openly exploring emotions we consider “negative,” like sadness.

Many of us instinctively know there’s something cathartic about a good cry—and experts agree there are psychological benefits. “Crying, especially when alone, can serve as a sort of self-therapy,” Dr. Parker says. “It really forces you to think about whatever you’re crying about and to process it, and that can make you feel better.”

A healthy sob also helps your body regulate. When strong feelings (positive or negative) flood the body, it creates stress, Dr. Parker explains—and crying is like a pressure relief valve. “Tears relieve the psychological pressure that is accumulated within our sympathetic nervous system,” she says. Research shows that right before you start crying, the nervous system’s fight-or-flight response peaks, explains Dr. Bylsma. Once the tears start flowing, your nervous system’s relaxation response can start to kick in.

Kolmar Korea wins long-running legal battle against Intercos over sun care tech leakage

Kolmar Korea has won a long-running legal dispute against Intercos Korea over the leakage of proprietary sun care technologies by former employees.

The dispute originated when a former Kolmar Korea employee, who had worked at the company for about 10 years, transferred to Intercos Korea in 2018 and removed multiple core research and development materials, including proprietary sunscreen formulation data and new product development information.

Investigations later revealed that another former employee, who also joined Intercos Korea around the same time, participated in the leakage of “trade secrets.”

Puig hits €5bn revenue but forecasts fragrance slowdown in 2026

Marc Puig, chairman and CEO of Puig, said the business had outperformed the general market. He also noted that Puig had completed its previous five‑year strategic plan, communicated in early 2021, which set its ambition to double its 2020 revenue in three years and triple it in five. “We exceeded those goals, more than doubling our revenue by 2022 and more than tripling it by 2025,” he said.

However, Puig issued a word of caution for the fast‑growing fragrance category, stating that he expects growth in the fragrance market to “continue to normalize” and therefore not maintain its recent upward trajectory.

Why some colour cosmetics brands are failing: shifting trends and rising costs

The start of this year came with the sad news that innovative color cosmetics brand Pat McGrath Labs has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Meanwhile, heritage UK-based color cosmetics brand Barry M had to seek out a buyer or face going into administration due to heightened manufacturing costs.

While there are more opportunities than ever to create new cosmetics brands, there is also more competition and a volatile economy to compete with, along with a host of other changes in this category landscape.

‘100% Mineral’ sunscreen class action spotlights risk around absolute ingredient claims

Filed in California state court in December 2025, the complaint alleges that a range of Supergoop! sunscreen and SPF products marketed as “100% Mineral” or “Mineral” create a misleading impression that the entire formula is mineral-based, when the products allegedly contain non-mineral or synthetically processed ingredients.

While the case centers on sunscreen, the underlying issues may extend well beyond sun care, according to Laura Bentele, a partner and leader of Armstrong Teasdale’s Agribusiness and Food team.

“This lawsuit is structured as a consumer protection class action alleging that Supergoop! marketed a range of products as ‘100% mineral’ or ‘mineral’ in a way that created an overall impression that the products were entirely mineral or natural, even though (plaintiff alleges) the product formulas include non-mineral and/or synthetic/chemically processed ingredients,” she said.

Henkel’s challenge sees mixed NAD decision for Revlon’s ColorSilk

Following a competitor challenge brought by Henkel Corporation, the National Advertising Division (NAD) of BBB National Programs provided mixed recommendations regarding Revlon’s marketing and advertising behind its ColorSilk hair color with Bond Repair Complex across the brand’s packaging, digital channels and third-party retail platforms.

While several claims were found to be supported, others were flagged for modification or discontinuation, underscoring how narrowly advertising language must track underlying evidence.
