Ariana Grande Just Got Even More Hand Tattoos—See the Photos

0

Ariana Grande’s hand tattoo collection keeps on growing! The musician and Wicked: For Good star has a vast assortment of body ink, with a plethora of designs concentrated on her hands, fingers, and palms. And now, she’s devoted even more palm real estate to a series of sweet, nature-inspired hand tats.

Over the weekend, both Grande and tattoo artist Mira Mariah, a.k.a. girlknewyork, shared snapshots of Grande’s latest designs: a series of vines and daisies across the star’s thumb, pointer finger, and ring finger. “More vines! Art girl tattoo party for the art girls!” Mariah wrote, with Grande commenting, “Love you so much” and “I love my peaches flowers.” The designs are simple but impactful, done in black ink with the biggest vine trailing from the tip of Grande’s thumb all the way to the base of her palm. Two daisies decorate her pointer finger, with another vine inked from the middle of her ring finger to the top of her palm. Another small daisy flower sits daintily at the base of her pinky.

Like we said above, Grande has a whole bunch of hand tattoos, including “For Good” on her other palm—a tattoo she got with Wicked costar Cynthia Erivo to commemorate their experience. As you can see in the pic below, she has a large illustration of Glinda from the original Oz books on the top of one hand, a moon and planets on the other, and the word “Toulouse,” an homage to her dog, across her knuckles. More vine designs encircle one wrist and finger.

Susie’s Vision for 2026 – 100% PURE

0

Introduction: The Evolution of a Visionary

As the celebrations for Susie’s birthday come to a close, we find ourselves reflecting on the legacy she has created since that first “aha” moment in 2004. Susie has always been a Sophisticated Rebel, someone who looked at the industrial giants and said, “We can do better.” But if you ask her today, she’ll tell you that the mission is no longer just about avoiding the bad; it’s about proving the good.

For the last two decades, “natural” was the goal. But in 2026, natural is simply the baseline. The future isn’t just about being “clean”—it’s about Science-Backed Purity. We are shifting our focus from what we leave out of our bottles to the undeniable evidence of what we put in them. We are moving from a philosophy of exclusion to a methodology of evidence.

Purity 2.0: From Exclusion to Evidence

In the early days of the clean beauty movement, the conversation was dominated by the “No” list. No parabens, no sulfates, no synthetic fragrances. This was Purity 1.0: purity-as-exclusion. It was a necessary first step, but it created a gap in the market. Many people found that “clean” products didn’t always perform, and without standardized proof, it was hard to tell which brands were truly safe and which were just good at marketing.

Conscious Chemistry: The Proof is in the Process

Susie’s vision for 2026 is what we call Conscious Chemistry. We are stepping away from the outdated binary of “natural vs. synthetic” and embracing a more sophisticated reality. We now utilize Nature-Identical and Lab-Refined ingredients.

What does this mean for you? It means that when a botanical ingredient is too unstable or inconsistent in its raw form, we refine it in our laboratory to ensure every single drop is standardized for high performance. It ensures that our formulas are fully MOCRA-compliant and backed by rigorous safety substantiation. We aren’t just guessing that a product is pure; we are verifying it through pharmaceutical-grade standards at our facility in San Jose, CA.

The Hearts & Minds Framework

This shift is perfectly encapsulated in our approach to makeup. We keep the “Heart”—the sensory soul of our fruit pigments that provides that vibrant, nature-backed joy. But we add the “Mind”—the scientific rigor of high-purity minerals. By balancing these two, we provide colors that stay true, wear longer, and remain stable on your shelf. This is the New Standard of Clean: a hybrid model where heritage meets high-performance engineering.

Stability as the Ultimate Act of Care

If you’ve been following our journey, you know the story of the brown Vitamin C serum that inspired Susie to start this brand in 2004. That wasn’t just a story about color; it was a story about stability. In 2026, we view stability not just as a technical requirement, but as the ultimate act of care for our customers.

The Technical Standard: Safety Through Stability

When a product is unstable, it is a safety risk. As we’ve learned, an antioxidant that oxidizes can turn “pro-oxidative,” essentially doing the opposite of what it’s supposed to do. In the next era of 100% PUREwe are obsessed with the “Science of Silence.”

By utilizing lab-refined techniques at Purity Parkwe ensure that our potent vitamins and botanicals stay “quiet” and beneficial. We use advanced stabilization methods to lock in the nutrients, ensuring they only become active the moment they touch your skin. This is why we are so committed to our vertical integration.

The San Jose Sanctuary

Owning our facility in San Jose allows us to master this stability. We don’t have to rely on the “noisy” industrial byproducts or aggressive preservatives that mass-market factories use to keep products shelf-stable for years. Because we make our products in small, fresh batches, we can use sophisticated, gentle preservation systems that respect your skin’s barrier while guaranteeing the product’s integrity. We don’t just “source” safety; we engineer it in a 100% controlled environment.

The 2026 North Star: The Sensitive-Skin Strength Ritual

The “North Star” of Susie’s vision for 2026 is a transition for our customers: moving from a state of being “reactive” to a state of being “resilient.” This is the core of our Frequency A philosophy—Clean & Quiet care that focuses on the restoration of the moisture barrier.

To prove this vision, we look to The Sensitive-Skin Strength Ritual. This isn’t just a collection of products; it is a manifestation of our 2026 methodology. Every step is a piece of evidence that gentle, science-backed care creates unshakeable results.

Prepping the “Wise Skin” Canvas

The ritual begins with the Calendula Flower Cleansing Milk and the Matcha Oat Face Scrub. We call sensitive skin “wise” because it alerts you to the world’s stressors. These two products act as the first line of restoration.

The cleansing milk uses stabilized calendula to calm the barrier, while the scrub uses a “cushioned” oat base to smooth the skin without causing micro-tears. This isn’t about “stripping” the skin; it’s about providing bioavailable botanicals that prepare the surface for deeper repair.

Concentrated Restorative Engineering

The Matcha Oat Milk Nourishing Mask represents the highest standard of our engineering. It is a concentrated dose of silence for your skin. By flooding the barrier with moisture-binding oats and potent antioxidants, it helps to put out the “fire” of irritation, allowing your skin to finally refocus its energy on building long-term resilience.

Active Mastery: Building the Unshakeable Barrier

The final steps—the Intensive Nourishing Facial Oil and the Seaberry Moisturizer—are where the science of stability truly shines.

The facial oil uses Susie’s patented stabilization logic to deliver active vitamins without the risk of oxidation. The Seaberry Moisturizer then seals that nourishment in, providing a “Spine” of hydration that protects against the environmental stressors of the modern world. When your barrier is this strong, you aren’t just “coping” with your environment; you are mastering it. This is the future of skin health: a barrier so resilient it remains unbothered by the noise of the world.

Conclusion: A Proven Future

As we look beyond the horizon of 2026, the promise of 100% PURE remains as firm as it was in 2004. Our narrative is evolving to reflect the scientific reality of the modern world, but our commitment to your results is unshakeable.

The future of beauty isn’t just “clean”—it’s proven, stable, and resilient. We are moving away from the “no-no” lists and into a world of Science-Backed Puritywhere every formula is a testament to radical integrity and high-performance engineering.

We invite you to experience this vision for yourself. Our Happy Promise remains our 60-day guarantee: if you don’t love the way your skin feels and looks as it transitions to this new standard of care, we’ll take it back. We have spent twenty-two years building this foundation, and we are ready for the next twenty. Welcome to the New Standard of Clean. Welcome to the future of 100% PURE.

FAQ Section: Navigating the 2026 Vision

What is the difference between “Natural” and “Science-Backed Purity”?

In the early days of clean beauty, “Natural” often meant using ingredients straight from the earth with minimal processing. While beautiful in theory, this can lead to issues with stability, consistency, and even safety (as some natural minerals can contain heavy metal contaminants). Science-Backed Purity is a more rigorous methodology. It means we lead with botanical ingredients but refine them using advanced laboratory techniques to ensure they are stable, potent, and safe. It includes pharmaceutical-grade testing and stability validation that “Natural” brands often skip. It’s about being “Nature-Identical” rather than just “raw.”

How does the 2026 vision benefit people with highly sensitive skin?

The 2026 vision is a “safe haven” for sensitive skin. By focusing on Frequency A (Clean & Quiet) care and the “Science of Silence,” we are prioritizing the restoration of the moisture barrier above all else. Our focus on stability means that your products won’t degrade into potential irritants on your shelf. By choosing “Nature-Identical” ingredients, we provide your skin with nutrients it recognizes and can use immediately, reducing the “noise” of reactivity and helping you build a skin barrier that is truly resilient.

What is “Conscious Chemistry”?

Conscious Chemistry is our way of saying we use science with intention. It means we don’t use a synthetic ingredient just because it’s cheap, and we don’t use a natural ingredient just because it’s “on trend.” Every ingredient in a 100% PURE bottle is chosen based on its safety, stability, and efficacy. If a botanical needs a lab-refined boost to stay stable and perform its best for your skin, we provide it. It’s about being smart, safe, and transparent about how we engineer beauty.

Olivia Dean Is the New Global Brand Partner of Hourglass Cosmetics | Interview

0

“‘I love you. You’ve got this. You look gorgeous.’”

That’s what Olivia Dean tells herself when she looks in the mirror each morning. “I lead with that mentality,” says the singer, who is currently nestled into a plush couch in a hotel suite in downtown San Francisco. “Even though sometimes you might not feel like it, you have to pretend.” It’s clear Dean practices what she preaches: her megahit album is called, of course, The Art of Loving, and includes songs like “So Easy (To Fall In Love)” and “I’ve Seen It” that remind listeners that there’s beauty to be found in all forms of love, self-love chief among them.

The day of our meeting is less than a week after Dean’s Grammys win for Best New Artist—and her excitement remains palpable. “It’s [only now] just sinking in,” says Dean, as she lights a Diptyque candle. “It’s been the craziest week of my life.” She has many more crazy-in-a-good-way days ahead, from a performance later that evening to an upcoming (and already sold out) world tour, to the reason we have gathered here today: her appointment as the new global brand partner of Hourglass Cosmetics.

It was only a matter of time before Dean was tapped by a beauty brand: Her curls tumble down her shoulders in a way that feels effortless and her complexion glows like that of someone who sleeps ten hours a night and spends their days relaxing, not performing at major awards shows. But Dean wants it to be clear: It took lots of experimentation before she landed on her now-signature look. “I think it would be absolutely ridiculous to pretend everyone just immediately knows what their style is. I really think you have to do a lot of trial and error,” she says. “I used to have the craziest eyebrows; I took it really far. Those photos really make me laugh.”

Today, Dean’s beauty philosophy is all about embracing what comes naturally. “I don’t want to feel like a completely different person on stage,” she says. “It’s about me and my everyday life, but just a little more fabulous.” Her beauty influences are vast, but Dean says she admires Audrey Hepburn as well as her “favorite mother and daughter combo” of Diana and Tracee Ellis Ross. Recently, Dean has also been referencing photos of Bianca Jagger, who “really owns the side part.”

Dean’s partnership with Hourglass feels like a natural fit, she says: “It’s a brand that has been in my life for a really long time already. I remember going into Liberty in London; their brushes were the first set I ever bought. Now, I’ve got all their travel brushes for going on tour.” It’s then that Dean opens her makeup bag, showing off her current favorites. She’s loyal to the Veil Hydrating Skin Tint (“I’m either shade 10 or 11, depending on how much sun I’ve been able to receive,” she says, “Today, 10.”), the lip liner she performed in at the Grammys (one perk of her new gig: it’s a new shade that hasn’t been released yet), and the new Unreal Liquid Highlighter in Infinite, a yellow-toned gold. “I am quite loyal to being a blush lady, but I’ve started doing highlight on top of that, and this one is just gorgeous,” says Dean. “It makes you look like you just stepped off the beach.” The highlighter and tint are two of the three products (along with the brand’s Vanish Airbrush Concealer) that comprise “The Olivia Edit,” the first of a series of capsule collections Dean will select for Hourglass as part of her new role.

5 Signs You Were Raised by Narcissist Parents, According to Psychologists

0

It’s one thing to grow up with strict parents—or even emotionally immature ones who made you the de facto adult in the house. But it’s another to be raised by narcissist parents—a specific kind of upbringing that impacts you long after your childhood technically ends.

These days, “narcissist” has become a buzzword to describe manipulative exes, tyrannical bosses, or essentially anyone who acts like an entitled jerk. Clinically, there is such a thing as Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD), a rare, diagnosable mental health condition that requires a formal evaluation. But when people use this term in everyday conversation, they usually aren’t referring to this, though. More often than not, they’re talking about selfish people with narcissistic features: “A person who is self-centered, has a lot of self-importance, and believes they’re the most important person in the room,” Suzanne Manser, PhD, licensed psychologist and author of I Hate You (A Love Letter to My Mother): Healing Paper Cuts, Mother Wounds, and Intergenerational Paintells SELF. “It’s someone who needs to be admired; who thinks they should always get their way, because it’s obviously the best; who sees everyone else’s feelings as irrelevant.”

If that’s the kind of person (or people) you were brought up by, you probably absorbed a few harsh truths early on, Dr. Manser says: Like the idea that love is conditional; or that your needs come second—if they’re even acknowledged at all. But how do you know if you were actually raised by narcissists, and not just difficult or tough-to-please parents? While there’s no definitive checklist, psychologists have observed that adults who grew up this way tend to share most, if not all, of the behavioral patterns below.

1. You’re hyperfocused on doing the “right” thing—and paranoid about doing the wrong one.

In a narcissistic household, the punishment for “messing up” is disproportionate and unpredictable, Ramani Durvasula, PhD, clinical psychologist and author of It’s Not You: Identifying and Healing from Narcissistic Peopletells SELF. A forgotten chore, a slightly “off” tone, or any normal teenage mistake will often spiral into a condescending lecture or the silent treatment—experiences that may lead you to carry a constant fear of criticism, even in low-stakes situations.

For example, “you might quadruple check if you’ve packed your charger or become paranoid about, ‘Did I sound okay when I said that?’ ‘What kind of gift should I get? I don’t want to bring the wrong one!’” Dr. Durvasula says. “In general, there’s a lot of self-doubt and anxiety,” because being imperfect in these situations isn’t just an inevitable part of life: It means risking withdrawal, ridicule, or a sudden loss of affection from the very person whose approval you crave most.

2. You’ve never thought about what you want.

Growing up with someone who puts themselves first means your needs get ignored. From a young age, you may have been told what to think (“You love soccer, you were born for this!”), how to act (“That didn’t hurt—stop making it a big deal”) or what to want (“We don’t like grandma on dad’s side, okay?” “You don’t need friends, you have me”).

The Best Spring Pedicure Colors, Tips and Nail Art Ideas

0

With spring just around the corner, the new season often brings a few beauty and wardrobe updates. Most notably, it’s sandal season once again. While we may be thinking about spring dresses and pretty pastel shades of baby blue and lavender for our manicures, there’s one detail that’s easy to overlook: the feet.

After months of boots and warm socks, it’s time to break out the sandals—and your feet may be in need of a little extra TLC. Whether you’re heading to a pedicure or planning a DIY spa day at home, start by prepping your toes and revitalizing your feet before finishing with a fresh spring pedicure. From seasonal nail art to bright new polish colors, there are plenty of ways to welcome the season.

Ahead, how to refresh your feet and heels, plus plenty of pedicure ideas to inspire your next look.

Featured Experts

How to Prep for a Pedicure

Feet can easily be forgotten during the winter months. “After months of colder weather, the skin on the feet is often dry, thickened and lacking proper exfoliation,” says Miami dermatologist Anna Chacon, MD. “As we transition into spring and more open footwear, it’s important to focus on restoring smoothness and hydration.” But how exactly do you do that?

First, Dr. Chacon recommends “gentle but consistent” exfoliation, especially on the heels and soles of the feet. “Use a chemical exfoliant containing ingredients such as urea, lactic acid or salicylic acid to help break down thickened skin on the heels and soles,” she says. “These ingredients soften callused areas more effectively than harsh mechanical scrubs.” DRMTLGY’s Concentrated Foot Cream ($29) contains lactic acid, ceramides and other nourishing ingredients to exfoliate and soften.

Next, remember to deeply hydrate your feet with an occlusive. “Apply a rich emollient foot cream containing ingredients like shea butter, glycerin or petrolatum before bedtime and cover with cotton socks,” says Dr. Chacon. Wearing socks afterward “helps lock in moisture and significantly improves dry, cracked heels,” she adds. L’Occitane’s Karite Confort Foot Cream ($34) contains shea butter to nourish and soften.

If a regular foot cream or moisturizer isn’t doing the trick, consider a more intensive foot mask or overnight leave-on treatment, such as Patchology’s PoshPeel PediCure ($22). “Hydrating foot masks or exfoliating peel masks can help rejuvenate dull, rough skin,” says Dr. Chacon, who especially recommends these treatments at the start of spring or the end of winter. “These treatments are especially useful at the beginning of the season to reset the skin barrier and remove accumulated dead skin.”

Lastly, remembering sunscreen becomes especially important as we start spending more time in the sunshine. One easily overlooked spot is the tops of the feet. Dr. Chacon reminds us to apply SPF daily to this area if wearing sandals. “Many people forget that the tops of the feet are frequently exposed to UV rays when wearing sandals,” she says. “Applying a broad-spectrum SPF helps prevent sun damage, pigmentation and premature aging in this often-overlooked area.” Choose a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher sunscreen, and if you’ll be outdoors, a water-resistant formula is best, like Supergoop! Unseen Body Sunscreen SPF 40 ($42).

Best Spring Pedicure Colors

Now that you’ve taken good care of your feet, they’re ready for a pedicure and a fresh spring polish. To match the season, “Spring pedicure colors should feel fresh, soft and uplifting,” says Olha Shtanhei, professional nail artist and championship judge—advice that applies to manicures, too. “I recommend light pastels and clean, elegant shades that look beautiful with open-toe shoes,” she adds.

With so many color options for spring, Shtanhei recommends choosing “shades that look fresh in natural daylight and complement your skin tone.” Specifically, “Soft pastels and luminous corals are especially flattering and help the feet look healthy and well-groomed,” she adds.

Raspberry Pink

Choosing a vibrant springtime color is a perfect way to usher in the new season. This raspberry shade is “a bold yet cheerful pink-red that just says it’s spring,” says Sofiia Mazur, nail artist and educator in Calgary, Alberta. “Bright, juicy and eye-catching, it’s the perfect shade to add a fresh pop of color to your pedicure.” She recommends OPI Nail Lacquer in California Raspberry ($12), which “looks vibrant in daylight, pairs beautifully with open-toe shoes and instantly makes your pedicure and outfit look lively.”

Lavender Pastel

One of Shtanhei’s favorites right now is Mineral Fusion Nail Polish in Fun & Games ($10), “a soft lilac that feels playful yet sophisticated and perfectly captures the light, romantic mood of spring.”

Blushing Pink

If you prefer a versatile, timeless look that works year-round—especially in spring—Shtanhei often recommends Essie Nail Lacquer in Ballet Slippers ($10). “This milky blush pink gives the feet a very clean, polished appearance and works beautifully on almost every skin tone.”

Vibrant Coral

Brighter spring pedicures often rely on peach and coral shades, such as Shtanhei’s recommendation, OPI Nail Lacquer in Cajun Shrimp ($12), a cult-favorite shade from the brand. “It is a classic peachy coral that instantly adds warmth and energy,” she says.

Subtle Green

Lastly, go green. “Another trend I’m loving this season is soft mint green,” Shtanhei says, specifically recommending polishes such as Chanel Le Vernis in Cavalier Seul ($34) and Mineral Fusion Nail Polish in Mint To Be ($10). These mint pastel tones feel “fresh, modern and slightly unexpected,” she adds.

Spring Pedicure Nail Art Ideas

Spring nail art is always fun, but it doesn’t have to be reserved just for your fingertips. Embrace some fun with pedicure nail art as well. “Spring pedicures are all about freshness, softness and a hint of playfulness,” says Shtanhei.

Animal Print

Whether you opt for trending tiger print or a classic leopard print pedicure, animalistic patterns are timeless. “Designs inspired by leopard, zebra or snake patterns add a stylish statement to any manicure or pedicure,” says Mazur. “These prints are perfect when you want something a little more fashionable.”

Though animal print nails are super popular right now for both manicures and pedicures, they “never really go out of style, which makes them a fun and confident choice,” she adds. “They bring texture, contrast and personality to the nails, making even a simple set look trendy and expressive.”

Milky Finishes

Milky nails are everywhere lately and offer a nice switch-up from classic opaque polish. While not a detailed design, the finish adds a little boost of interest to your toes. Shtanhei specifically likes milky pastels this season, including “soft shades like lavender milk, peach blush and baby blue,” she says. These shades “create an elegant, clean look that feels very modern,” she adds.

Dainty Florals

Gone are the days of big, over-the-top florals on pedicures—at least for this season. Shtanhei instead recommends more minimal floral accents this spring. “Delicate hand-painted flowers on one or two toes add a subtle seasonal touch without overwhelming the design,” she says.

French Pedicure

French pedicures (and manicures) are timeless, but if you’re wondering how to modernize them for spring, Shtanhei recommends a glossier or more colorful twist. A “glossy French pedicure is a fresh take on the classic French with softer white or pastel tips instead of stark white,” she says.

Glazed Donut Pedicure

A simple yet effective way to dress things up on your toes: chrome powder. The famed glazed donut manicure can travel down to your toes this season, too. “Glazed or pearlescent finishes are luminous, light-reflecting finishes that give the nails a healthy, glowing look perfect for spring sandals,” says Shtanhei.

How You Can Dress in a Minimalist Way for Maximum Presence — Inside Out Style

The appeal of minimalist dressing, especially for intelligent, high-achieving women, lies in its promise: fewer choices, less overwhelm, and more trust in your own taste.

A streamlined wardrobe isn’t about owning less for the sake of austerity. It’s about owning the right garments for you. The right colours, the right shapes, the right textures – pieces that reflect your lifestyle, flatter your proportions, and align with your personal aesthetic.

Minimalism Doesn’t Have to Be Boring. It Can Be Strategic.

Let’s bust a myth: monochrome doesn’t mean monotonous. (Nor does monochrome mean black and white.)

Monochrome means one colour – but that can mean shades of one colour, and that colour can be bold or quieter depending on your mood.

Minimalist outfits can allow for deep creativity in subtle ways:

  • Layering in a similar colour adds depth and interest while keeping the look refined.  Think about different fabrics – like this turquoise outfit with a sheer shirt that adds a layer of interest beyond the fabric.
monochromatic presence - use colour and fabric to create interest
  • Fabric texture (matte vs. sheen, structured vs. soft) creates quiet contrast.
  • Proportion play – think wide-leg pants with a fitted top, or an oversized blazer over slim trousers. This helps you craft a visual narrative without needing print or embellishment.
use the principle of volume to create interest in a more minimalist outfit
Here I’ve paired an oversized jumper with a slim denim skirt.

These aren’t afterthoughts. They’re the language of minimalist style.

A Minimalist Wardrobe Supports a Minimalist Mind

The concept of a minimalist dressing room resonates with some because it promises more than a clean closet – it offers a clearer mind. When every piece in your wardrobe serves a purpose, your morning routine becomes effortless. You no longer second-guess your choices. You show up with clarity.

This is especially important during transitional life phases – career shifts, ageing, menopause, or personal reinvention. During these times, wardrobe chaos often mirrors internal uncertainty. Minimalist dressing provides a stabilising anchor.

The one time in many women’s lives where that minimalist wardrobe has worked and made life easier was during pregnancy.  Each item had to work with every other item, since you knew you wouldn’t be wearing these clothes forever and wanted to get maximum value from each piece.

If you love the idea of a minimalist wardrobe, approach it with the same attitude.  That all items will work together.

Minimalist Doesn’t Mean Passive

True minimalist style isn’t passive. It’s intentional. It’s the woman who doesn’t need sequins to feel seen. She’s confident in her presence. Her clothes aren’t bland – they’re an extension of her inner steadiness.

It’s also why style confidence doesn’t come from trend-chasing. It comes from understanding what works for your body, colouring,  life, and your values. Minimalist dressing helps distil those truths.

For some, minimalism may mean a self-imposed uniform, wearing the same clothes every day.  For others, it’s based on simple outfits, lack of pattern or extraneous detail as simplicity is key to their style.

Minimalism is Not for Everyone

Before you throw it all out for a minimalist wardrobe, read this post.

If you love a riot of pattern and colour, minimalism may not be for you.  I know I’m never going to be a minimalist; I get bored too easily and like variety. I love hero pieces, some patterns and a variety of colours.  When I come home from a trip and have had a limited, more minimal wardrobe available, I don’t want to see those clothes again for some time, as I’m sick of them.

That’s me…. but maybe you are different.

If you love a set of rules to follow and a simple, no-nonsense wardrobe, then minimalism may be right for you.

Minimalist Style Tips to Build Quiet Authority

Start with Neutrals You Love

Choose your best neutrals (these relate to your hair, eyes and skin colours)  that harmonise with your colour palette –read this post to help you discover yours (or get my professional opinion with an online colour analysis). This becomes the foundation for layering.

decide on your best neutrals to base you minimalist style around

For me, white and light grey are two of my best neutrals, now that my hair is silver white.

Add One Elevated Basic at a Time

Instead of overhauling everything, invest in high-quality staples: a tailored blazer, perfectly fitted trousers, and a versatile knit in a signature colour. Let each piece earn its place.

Master Layering and Proportion

Try pairing a slim turtleneck under a relaxed dress. Or add a signature colour jacket over neutral separates. Use structure and softness in balance.

Use Accessories Sparingly but Intentionally

A bold cuff, minimalist leather bag, or sculptural earrings can make a statement without saying a word.

Minimalist style isn’t about having less. It’s about having more clarity. When your wardrobe reflects your identity, supports your lifestyle, and respects your time, you show up differently.

You project authority, and the world listens.

Is Running Every Day Good or Bad for You?

0

For some runners, logging miles every single day feels like the ultimate badge of dedication. But when it comes to whether running daily is actually good for you, the answer isn’t entirely clear.

The real question isn’t simply how often you run—it’s how you approach those miles, according to Boston-based running coach Anoush Arakelian. “The word good or bad makes it a yes-or-no question,” she tells SELF. “It’s very much dependent on the person.”

If every run feels hard, running daily probably isn’t doing your body any favors. But if some of those miles truly function as recovery—think short, slow jogs that help you move without adding much stress on your joints—running every day may be more manageable.

The catch? Many runners struggle to actually slow down. There are some days when your run should be more of a jog.

“I find that a lot of people are incapable mentally of going as slow as they need to for their easy days,” Arakelian says. “If you’re not able to slow down, then you’re doing something wrong.”

That ability to dial back the effort is often what separates runners who can handle higher running frequency from those who can’t. Arakelian describes it as a kind of “runner maturity level.” More experienced athletes tend to feel less pressure to chase fast paces or long distances, and are more comfortable treating easy days as truly easy.

Even then, full rest days are still important. Some runners might get away with taking a full day off only every couple of weeks, while others need at least one weekly rest day to stay healthy. This depends on injury history, total weekly mileage, and how hard you’re training overall.

“There are some really experienced runners I work with that are prone to injury and they need two rest days a week,” Arakelian says. “It’s so individual.”

How to decide if you should run every day

What matters most is whether your training is actually working for you. If running every day leaves you constantly tired, struggling to complete workouts, or dreading long runs, that’s a sign your body may need more recovery time. And if you’re in any kind of pain, that’s your body sounding the alarm that something’s wrong—and it’s important to listen to it.
