7 Best Seamless Underwear I’ve Tried in 2026

0

Seamless underwear FAQs, answered:

What is seamless underwear?

“Seamless underwear is engineered to be virtually invisible under clothing, by eliminating any bulkiness and protruding seams that can cause the dreaded VPL we all try so hard to avoid,” details Senior Lingerie Buyer at Boux Avenue, Nia Davies. “You usually won’t find any stitch seam details with seamless underwear; the seams are bonded together — using heat-sensitive adhesive, creating a join that is flush and smooth to the touch.”

Are seamless underwear better than, say, cotton underwear?

In short: yes. If you’re looking for a completely polished surface and unwrinkled outfit, sticky bras, strapless bras and seamless knickers are exactly the sort of thing you should opt for. Not only do seamless pants create a smoother appearance, but they’re also gentler on your skin. Think about it: how often do harsh seams and tight waistbands irritate you? If the answer is often, you know the solution. Seamless styles feel like a second skin.

Whether it’s a close-fitting wedding guest dress, skort, slip, loungewear or pair of gym leggings you’re planning to wear, don’t let your undies ruin it. You needn’t spend a fortune on ensuring your outfit is fail-safe, either; the high street has some top-performing options for you to shop alongside or instead of the designer lingerie brands.

What materials are best for seamless underwear?

“The best material for a true seamless look and no VPL lines is microfibre,” adds Nia. “This material offers a second skin feeling, by being able to be exceptionally thin, having a flat profile and great stretch to be able to comfortably adapt and fit the figure without digging in.

“Unlike cotton, which requires a hem or stitched binding to prevent fraying, microfibre is strong enough to be laser cut, creating a ‘raw edge’ for a true no VPL finish.”

What to consider when choosing seamless underwear:

When choosing seamless underwear, you want to look for styles ideally made with microfibre, offering a good stretch to adapt to your figure and raw edges,” details Nia. “If you were to choose underwear with a hem or lace detailing, this could still be visible under clothing and create a VPL.

‘If you are buying seamless underwear because you want it to be invisible under your clothing, colour is a key component to also consider. If you are wearing a white outfit, you will want to choose seamless underwear that is close to your skin tone for a truly invisible and second-skin finish under your clothing — if you were to choose a bright colour, this would still be visible under your new white dress.”

Meet the expert:

How I test the best seamless underwear:

We’re more than familiar with seamless underwear at Glamour UK, with multiple members of the team labelling them a ‘lifeline’ under close-fitting wedding guest dresses. And, because we are a diverse team with different body shapes, sizes, heights and so on, it was a team effort when it came to testing no-show underwear.

We each received one style and were asked to wear it a few times before rating each pair against the following criteria:

Functionality Were the seamless underwear completely invisible underneath my clothes? Did I have any issues in terms of slipping, twisting or irritation?
Design Was the seamless underwear aesthetic and comfortable? How many options do I have in terms of colour and pattern? And what was each pair made of — is the material sustainable and breathable?
Price point Would I be willing to spend that much on a single pair of pants again? Is it of good quality?
Delivery How quickly did my seamless underwear arrive, and what were the associated costs?

And, because we’re all different in terms of our body shape, size and desired support, I also asked my fellow Glamour editors to weigh in on which brands and cuts they love, which influenced the styles I tested for myself.

Unsurprisingly, only the seamless underwear that impressed made it into this edit. However, I also tried the following, which sadly didn’t meet my standards:

  • H&M’s 5-Pack Seamless Thong Briefs, £19.99 — While this five-pack is super affordable, and I appreciate that most include pairs in different hues, I found the gusset was a little too thin, and, as a result, I occasionally felt like I was spilling out.

In terms of what I’m currently testing, stay tuned for these reviews:

InvisiWear Mid-Rise Bikini Underwear

OYSHO 5 Polyamide Blend Invisible Hipster Briefs

Sloggi Women’s ZERO Microfibre Briefs

Why you can trust me:

As a functional fashion writer, I’ve been reviewing underwear, shapewear, activewear, and wellness products, including cotton underwear, sports bras, and period pants. for almost three years — that’s one year at Women’s Health and 18 months at Glamour.

To ensure I am an authority in these areas, I regularly attend press launches and interview clothing designers or brand founders, pressing them for answers to common FAQs and requesting their best shopping tips.

But I also personally review as many new releases as possible. Ahead of the summer dress season, I’ve been reviewing seamless underwear (and anti-chafing shorts to layer on top when needed) from the likes of Marks & Spencer, Calvin Klein and Boux Avenue to see which styles were comfortable, breathable, and left no hint of a VPL.

For context, I fluctuate between a UK 12 and 14, depending on where I am in my menstrual cycle (and how big a bowl of pasta I had for dinner). And while I tend to prefer a bikini-style pant, I tried a host of styles, from full briefs to thongs, ahead of drafting this exhaustive list of the best seamless underwear.

7 Tips for Building a Healthy Diet With Canned, Frozen, and Packaged Goods

0

Certain influencers have built entire social media empires out of making everything from scratch. Oftentimes, their videos carry an implicit sense of moral superiority, suggesting that you’re not a good parent (or at least not as good as them) if you’re resorting to pre-packaged store-bought items. Those who pick their own produce and painstakingly hand-craft their own candy necklaces simply work harder, love their children more, are fundamentally better.

But this suggestion is hardly fair. For the vast majority of people—meaning those who don’t make their living off of wellness content or have near-endless amounts of time and money to burn—canned, frozen, and packaged stuff is almost always a far more practical option. “Groceries are a fortune,” after all, Anthea Levi, MS, RD, a Brooklyn-based health writer and the founder of Alive+Well Nutrition, tells SELF—and fresh items tend to be the most expensive, as a trip to the produce section of the supermarket will readily prove.

Besides the lower price point, canned, frozen, and packaged foods have one other major advantage: their staying power. “You can keep them in your freezer for months, so that often gives people confidence” in the purchase, since they know they don’t have an expiration date hanging over their head, Desiree Nielsen, RD, a recipe developer with a focus on plant-based nutrition, tells SELF. This, in turn, leads to reduced food waste: “Fresh salad greens are notorious for going slimy in the fridge, but you’ll never have that issue with frozen spinach. Ditto for fish. Fresh fish needs to be cooked ASAP before it turns, while frozen fish and canned or tinned fish last until you’re ready to use them,” Levi says.

Nielsen also takes issue with the basic idea that these options are somehow inherently inferior—“a big, big misconception,” in her eyes. “There has been a lot of confusion about the nature of these foods in general. Just because something is processed or packaged does not mean it’s unhealthy,” she says.

In other words, canned, frozen, or packaged items are often perfectly fine to include in your diet—and you shouldn’t feel embarrassed, ashamed, or inadequate if they make frequent appearances in your meals (or if they’re your first resort over fresh). “Constant access to fresh foods is, unfortunately, a luxury. If canned, frozen, or packaged items are the only way you’re able to put a fruit or vegetable on your plate, go for it,” Levi says. But if you’re still concerned about the health aspect, there are a few key ways to maximize the nutritional value and improve the overall experience. Here’s what to know to make the most of your freezer stash.

Is Kris Jenner’s Facelift Really Already “Slipping”?

Kris Jenner’s facelift: So, we meet again.

Let me first acknowledge the eyerolls and criticism that this story may inspire and clearly state that I, too, think we are spending entirely too much time discussing this woman’s face. But over the past few days, it’s been impossible to ignore the renewed frenzy around Jenner’s current appearance and how she (and nearly every plastic surgeon on social) may or may not feel about it. And as a journalist covering the plastic surgery beat, well, here I am. So what’s behind the hullabaloo? A report from Radar, which reads: “A source close to Jenner told us, ‘Kris Jenner’s facelift is already slipping. She is not happy with the results and is desperate to get a revision—she feels it has not held the way she expected.’”

Is this true? Who knows? (Only Jenner and her surgeon, that’s who.) Still, plastic surgeons have been quick to post their various takes on Jenner’s alleged dissatisfaction. Some have criticized the SMAS facelift that Jenner supposedly received, suggesting the procedure doesn’t hold up as well as the deep plane facelift. Others have called these kinds of public jabs “a bad look” for the field, noting how they discourage transparency and erode patient trust.

Beverly Hills plastic surgeon Charles Galanis, MD, posted in his stories that he heard “from a very reliable source that this [Jenner rumor] is actually not true and the celebrity in question didn’t express this.” He went on to say, “The number of people I’ve seen gleefully hopping on social media platforms to knock down the surgeon or knock down the cost or knock down the technique, it doesn’t sit right with me. I just think as a collective, we can do more to prop each other up or educate the masses in a positive way, without having to step on someone else to do it.” I’m writing with this in mind. We should operate under the assumption that the Jenner news is hearsay and that any related chatter is utter speculation.

Alycia Baumgardner Fight Tonight: The Undisputed Champ Hits MSG

Alycia Baumgardner Fight Tonight is the only thing the girls are talking about because our favorite undisputed champ is back to handle business! Alycia “The Bomb” Baumgardner is stepping into the ring at Madison Square Garden tonight to defend her unified super featherweight titles against Bo Mi Re Shin, and the energy is already off the charts. It is such a boss move to see her headlining at such an iconic venue, especially because this fight is making history with three minute rounds, just like the men. We have been following her journey for a minute now, and there is just something about her “beauty and the beast” energy that makes us want to pull up and cheer as loud as possible!

For those who are just catching on, Alycia’s story is pure inspiration. Born and raised in Fremont, Ohio, she started boxing at the tiny age of six, so she has literally been a fighter her entire life. She isn’t just a powerhouse in the ring; she is also a Ford model and a total fashion girlie, proving that you can be soft and strong at the exact same time. She became the undisputed queen of her division by collecting every major belt possible, showing us all what happens when you stay disciplined and never take your eyes off the prize.

Tonight isn’t just another title defense; it is a statement for women’s boxing as a whole. Watching Alycia lead the charge for equal round times at MSG is a major milestone that we are so proud to witness. She has this surgical precision and lightning-fast hand speed that makes every one of her fights look like a work of art. We are definitely clearing our schedules for the 11 p.m. ringwalk because witnessing a legend in the making is the only way to spend a Friday night. Go get ‘em, Alycia, we are all in your corner!

Joonbyrd Longevity Duo Review: Future Romance Body Glaze & Big Time Body Wash

I’ve been testing the newest launches from Dr Alexis Granite, the Joonbyrd Longevity Duo – the Future Romance Longevity Body Glaze and Big Time Longevity Body Wash, and it’s definitely one of those body care drops that feels like it’s trying to do something a bit different.

I’m not entirely convinced anyone is searching for “longevity body care” just yet, but the concept is interesting. Instead of quick fixes or instant glow, this duo is all about supporting your skin over time in terms of hydration, resilience, and overall skin health rather than overnight transformation.

Joonbyrd Longevity Duo: What You Need to Know

Joonbyrd Longevity Duo Review: Future Romance Body Glaze & Big Time Body Wash
Joonbyrd Longevity Duo Review: Future Romance Body Glaze & Big Time Body Wash

The Joonbyrd Longevity Duo is a two-step bodycare routine designed to bring skincare-style thinking to your body routine.

  • Big Time Longevity Body Wash – a treatment-led cleanser
  • Future Romance Longevity Body Glaze – a hydrating, skin-conditioning finish

The formulas are built around Joonbyrd’s ALXmd04™ technologywhich targets hydration, skin resilience and long-term radiance at a deeper level. The idea is that consistent use helps improve:

  • skin barrier strength
  • hydration levels
  • texture and tone over time

What Does “Longevity Body care” Actually Mean?

“Longevity” is very much a buzzword right now, but in practical terms, it’s about:

  • maintaining healthy skin function
  • supporting the microbiome
  • protecting against environmental stress
  • keeping skin hydrated and resilient

Joonbyrd positions this as preventative body care rather than corrective, which is actually quite a smart shift away from traditional “anti-ageing” messaging.

Joonbyrd Big Time Longevity Body Wash Review

Joonbyrd Big Time Body Wash
Joonbyrd Big Time Body Wash

This isn’t just a basic shower gel. It’s designed to act as a treatment step within your routine.

The formula includes:

  • Hyaluronic acid to help lock in moisture
  • Panthenol and allantoin for soothing and conditioning
  • Botanical extracts and ferments to support the skin barrier and microbiome
Joonbyrd Big Time Body Wash
Joonbyrd Big Time Body Wash

It also uses plant-derived cleansing agents to remove impurities while maintaining hydration.

Texture & Application

The texture is just gorgeous. It feels so soft and cocooning and it turns into a rich, luxurious foam, which already makes it feel a bit more elevated than your average body wash. A little goes a long way, so you won’t need to worry too much about getting through the bottle too fast.

It leaves my skin feeling super soft and smooth, and really calm and hydrated. It’s delightful. Also, I love the smell. I never really thought that I’d like a banana body wash but this is absolutely gorgeous. It’s warm and creamy and extremely comforting. There’s something really familiar about it, but also quite different!

Future Romance Longevity Body Glaze Review

Joonbyrd Future Romance Body Glaze
Joonbyrd Future Romance Body Glaze

This is the second step, and where things get a bit more “skincare meets bodycare.”

Formula & Key Ingredients

The Body Glaze is packed with:

  • Grape flower exosomes (with resveratrol) to support repair
  • Hyaluronic acid + glycerin for hydration
  • Squalane and shea butter for nourishment
  • Adaptogenic botanicals and antioxidants for protection

It’s designed to help:

  • strengthen the skin barrier
  • improve smoothness
  • boost radiance over time

Texture & Application

There’s something so glam about this glass bottle and I love the fact that the formula is described as a “glaze,” which suggests something a bit more luminous and skin-enhancing than a traditional body lotion.

The lotion melts into the skin so effortlessly and feels light to the touch but super hydrating.

Finish

The Glaze leaves a light glow on the skin, that just gives that healthy skin finish, perfect for summer. There’s nothing sticky or tacky about it, and you can get dressed immediately, so don’t get put off by the glaze reference.

This also has the fab Banana Woods fragrance, and this layer builds lightly on the scent from the body wash, without being overpowering.

The Banana Woods Fragrance

Both products share the same scent, described as Banana Woods, with notes of:

  • banana
  • peach
  • cacao
  • musk
  • tonka bean

On paper, it sounds quite sweet, but in reality it’s designed to be more of a warm, creamy, musky scent with a soft fruity edge rather than anything overly tropical.

As I said above, I’m quite a fan, and am surprised by how much I love the banana. It all feels very calming and relaxing, and it’s the perfect scent to help enhance overall skin wellbeing and mood.

Results & Skin Benefits

Because this is positioned as “longevity” bodycare, results are more about consistency than instant payoff.

I have been using the duo for about a week and together they are super soothing and nourishing, and bring a great level of comfort to my skin. My skin is feeling nice and hydrated, and even my elbows feel nice and smooth.

With continued use, the benefits are likely to be:

  • improved hydration
  • smoother texture
  • more comfortable, balanced skin

Packaging & Price Point

Joonbyrd Future Romance Body Glaze
Joonbyrd Future Romance Body Glaze

This sits firmly in the premium bodycare category. Future Romance Body Glaze is £62 and the Big Time Body Wash is £39, and packaging-wise, Joonbyrd is very much about that sensory, elevated experience. I love this brand’s aesthetic and if you care what your “shelfies” look like, you will love it.

Is the Joonbyrd Longevity Duo Worth It?

I think this will really appeal if you:

  • enjoy skincare-led bodycare
  • like a strong sensorial element (especially fragrance)
  • are interested in long-term skin health

It’s less about quick results and more about consistency and experience.

I’m already a big fan of Joonbyrd and love their Moon Swim wash and the Daydreamer Body Serum. For more info on those, read:

This new duo is certainly no disappointment.

Final Thoughts

There’s definitely a shift happening towards treating body skin with the same level of care as facial skincare, and this duo leans fully into that.

Whether it’s worth the investment really comes down to how much you value this kind of elevated experience with the kind of high quality ingredients that are often reserved for the face. Personally, now I’m in my 50s, I definitely see the value of treating my body skin with a bit more care and a more targeted approach.

Where to buy it

Celebs and Influencers at Coachella: The 2026 Festival Recap

Celebs and Influencers at Coachella truly owned the desert this year, and we are absolutely living for all the representation and pure talent on display! From the high fashion moments in the VIP tents to the legendary surprise guests on the main stage, the energy was just on another level. It is so beautiful to see our favorite stars not just attending but completely dominating the festival culture, proving once again that they are the blueprint for everything cool. Whether they were rocking custom designer sets or keeping it effortless in vintage streetwear, the vibe was strictly unapologetic excellence.

Can we talk about the performances for a second because our hearts still haven’t recovered! Seeing Swae Lee and Jhene Aiko bring those “Sativa” vibes to the stage was a literal dream, and their chemistry was just as ethereal as we imagined. Then, the energy completely shifted when Sexyy Red hit the stage and brought out the one and only Lizzo for a moment that basically broke the internet. They looked like they were having the absolute time of their lives, and seeing that kind of genuine sisterhood on such a massive stage was everything.

The soulful side of the festival was just as heavy, with Giveon and Kehlani delivering performances that had everyone in their feelings in the best way possible. Their voices together are like pure velvet, and they brought a level of sophistication and raw emotion to the desert that felt so intimate despite the massive crowds. We also saw so many of our favorite lifestyle girlies like Winnie Harlow and Tems serving looks that defined “festival chic”. From Tems’ effortless oversized button down look to Winnie’s stunning tan mini dress and boots, the fashion was a masterclass in how to do Coachella right.

A New Study Reveals 3 Migraine Triggers That Might Be Making Your Headaches Worse—See Them Here

0

With climate change intensifying how often we deal with heat waves and pollution, it’s important to consider these risk factors when it comes to migraine, the researchers wrote.

Why do these factors raise the risk of migraine?

It’s important to note that the study didn’t prove that air pollution, heat, and lower humidity levels cause migraines—it just found a link between them. But doctors say there’s likely something here.

Air pollution can spark neuroinflammation (the immune system’s inflammatory response in the brain and spinal cord), which is a risk factor for migraine, Sana Ghafoor, MD, neurologist at Tufts Medical Center, tells SELF. This may cause a release of pain chemicals like calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) and substance P that can lead to a migraine, Dr. Ghafoor says.

Air pollution may be particularly problematic for people with allergies who also struggle with migraines, Clifford Segil, DO, a neurologist at Providence Saint John’s Health Center in Santa Monica, California, tells SELF. The body may see air pollution as an allergen and mount an immune response, which can spark a migraine in people who are sensitive to this trigger, he explains.

Then, there’s the fact that heat can impact blood vessels and nerves. “When people heat up, nerves and blood vessels in tight locations can become irritated, as the diameter of a blood vessel or nerves increases with heat,” Dr. Segil says. That, too, can trigger a migraine. You’re also more susceptible to getting dehydrated when it’s hot out, Dr. Ghafoor says: “If you’re overheated and dehydrated, those can also trigger migraines.”

Dr. Segil points out that high humidity common in the spring and summer (and not just that related to air pollution) can trigger migraines too. High humidity causes you to sweat and lose water, which can decrease the amount of blood in your blood vessels (if you don’t replace it), Dr. Segil says. “This decreases the diameter of blood vessels and can cause headaches, just like an increased blood vessel diameter,” he says.

Makeup: After the “clean girl”, towards more expressive beauty

0

Globally, the cosmetics market is expected to grow 6.6 percent this year to reach a value of US$664.6 billion, according to data analytics firm Euromonitor International. Within this market, makeup is expected to grow by 6.7% and will remain as the third largest market category, behind skincare and hair, with a value of $86.3 billion in 2026. Over the next three years, makeup is expected to grow by 21%, reaching a value of $104.7 billion in 2029.

What will be the drivers of this growth in the years to come? What trends will prevail? And how can brands adapt? According to Chloé Arjona, beauty director of the French trend forecasting agency NellyRodi, makeup is on the cusp of a global transformation.

Of the clean girl to expressiveness

“With everything that is happening in the world – a chaotic and uncertain climate – we tend to favor what is reassuring, to go back to basics,” explained Chloé Arjona during a round table at the show Cosmoprof Worldwide Bolognalast month. This is why, according to her, minimalist trends like clean girl and the no-makeup makeup have enjoyed such success in recent years: in times of crisis, consumers favor care routines rather than expressiveness.

More things are changing. “Now that we’ve optimized a lot of routines and we’ve seen the rise of clean girl trends and aesthetics, we’re reaching a plateau where everything seems a bit homogeneous, standardized, and everyone looks the same. I think it’s the end of a phase and the beginning of a new cycle,” according to the beauty expert.

For Chloé Arjona, makeup enters a cycle richer in pigments and more expressivewhile relying on the foundations of a minimalist aesthetic and enriched, skin-friendly formulas. CeneaFrench dermo-active makeup brand, and Florasisa high-end Chinese makeup brand, who both participated in the same round table, illustrate this change. Both brands include natural or reputedly pure ingredients in their formulas. “This is the new standard”: makeup enriched with skincare active ingredients to which value is added with more pigments.

Hybrid and highly pigmented formulas

According to Nassim Hamek, formerly of L’Oréal and Typology, now founder, president and CEO of Cénéethis is precisely the path his brand is on. Cénée, he explained, offers “hybrid products” that integrate skincare active ingredients with traditional makeup formulas, with a beautiful range of “bold and highly pigmented” shades.

“Today, the clean girl look remains very popular,” he said. “Even within my brand, it’s the nude and sheer shades that sell best. But when I launched these super intense colors and pigments, makeup artists exclaimed, “Finally hybrid products I can use!” »

Nassim Hamek believes that makeup products, both luminous and good for the skin, represent a segment with strong growth potential.despite the technical difficulties often encountered by formulators and brands, and an overall market generally smaller than that of the clean girl.

For Gabby Chen, president of international markets at Florasispigments and skin care are at the heart of the brand’s offering, which aims to develop internationally. “In Asia, we use traditional Chinese medicine to create makeup. It may not be 100% natural beauty, but it’s made with natural ingredients,” she explained.

According to her, Florasis stands out from the minimalist makeup trend by offering a range of colorful and skin-friendly makeup products, drawing their roots from traditional Chinese know-how and heritage. “Our history is rooted in culture, and culture is a way to share art with the world. We are not minimalists, and we never will be, because it is an integral part of our heritage and our DNA.”

A playful and expressive beauty

Nassim Hamek pointed out that in Europe, discussions around makeup often focus on “undesirable ingredients” and that this needs to change. While it’s not easy to meet performance expectations with healthier, more natural formulas, it is nevertheless possible, as brands such as Cénée prove, he explained. “In five years, the word makeup will no longer be scary,” according to him, and we will be ready to “dare to use color” and “have more fun” with products in this category.

“I am convinced that we are evolving towards a more expressive approach to beauty, in particular thanks to the arrival on the market of new brands which capitalize on the success of skin care and on everything that has become essential: complete care and clean makeup. It is also because a new generation of brands are part of this trend that it is emerging. In my opinion, these brands allow consumers to participate in this new cycle of more expressive beauty,” added Chloé Arjona.

Asked about the place of celebrity brands In this new growth cycle of makeup, she told Premium Beauty News that it will depend on their authenticity and the celebrity who represents it. “We’ve seen a lot of celebrity-led brands lately, but many have closed their doors. I believe that the ones that endure are the ones that are authentic”

“Victoria Beckham, for example, is very involved in the development of the products of her makeup brand and favors quality, excellence and luxury, which corresponds perfectly to her world and her personality, and it works,” she stressed.

The Bridal Hair Ritual | Wendy Iles on Pre-Wedding Hair Care – Iles Formula

A wedding day is one of the most photographed days of a woman’s life, and the hair is the one thing that belongs entirely to her — not to a florist, not to a venue, not to a designer. And yet, so often, it is left to the last possible moment when it deserves to be a ritual.

After forty years working with brides, I have come to believe one thing: the difference between hair that is simply styled and hair that is genuinely beautiful is always preparation. The most important bridal hair care decisions are made in the weeks before the wedding — not the morning of it.

This is the pre-wedding hair care countdown I give every bride.

Six Weeks Before Your Wedding: Start Masking

If you do nothing else in your bridal hair care routine — do this. The Iles Formula Hair Mask Haute Performance is where the ritual starts. Rich in Macroloba Seed Oil, Vitamins B5 and E, it strengthens hair from within — rebuilding elasticity, sealing porosity, and delivering a natural luminosity that no styling product can replicate. Used weekly from this point, the cumulative effect on hair health is extraordinary. Six weeks gives it time to do its real work. Not a quick fix — a genuine transformation.

Four Weeks Before Your Wedding: Decide On Your Bridal Hair Look

Four weeks out is the moment to bring out the moodboard. Not to think about it — to commit to it. Go to your hairdresser with images. Many images. A picture speaks a thousand words in ways that descriptions almost never do.

Show the light and setting — an updo that holds beautifully indoors reads entirely differently in open summer air. Bring the accessories too — a veil changes the architecture of a style, a floral crown shifts its weight and balance. Let your hairdresser see the full hair picture before a single pin is placed.

Then book two bridal hair trials. Not one — two. The first is discovery: adjustments are made, the look is refined. The second, closer to the wedding, is confirmation. By the time your wedding morning arrives, there is no uncertainty — you have seen your hair, you know how it feels, and the morning becomes calm rather than chaotic.

Wendy’s Note

This conversation with your hairdresser is the most important investment of time in any pre-wedding hair preparation. Hair that arrives at the styling chair in exceptional condition takes direction effortlessly. Continue the weekly masking ritual throughout and let that work show in the chair.

Two Weeks Before Your Wedding: Ground in Ritual

Two weeks before the wedding, two things must be locked in.

The colour appointment. If you are refreshing or changing your colour, two weeks before is the appointment to make — not the week of, not the day before. Two weeks gives you time to see the result under natural light across several days, and to correct if needed without any pressure. This timing is the practical wisdom that separates a calm bride from a stressed one.

The daily hair care routine. From this point until the wedding morning, the Iles Formula Signature Collection becomes the foundation of every wash day. The 3-step Cleanse + Repair + Protect method — clinically proven to stop and prevent hair breakage from the first use — delivers sumptuous, lustrous, nurtured texture that is never weighed down. Excellent on virgin hair. Phenomenal on problematic hair.

The Iles Formula Conditioner Haute Performance is the raison d’être for the entire collection. It seals the cuticle completely — locking in colour tone and delivering the depth of shine that makes hair look its absolute best on a wedding day. Use it every single wash from this point forward.

Wedding Morning: Trust the Process

You have done the work. Your hair is in its best condition — possibly ever.

Heat-activated, it builds in UV protection, humidity resistance, and colour-fade protection that holds across a full summer ceremony and into the evening — making fine hair feel organically thicker and calming thick, coarse hair without ever weighing it down.

You have been in the trial chair twice. You know this look, how it feels, and how it holds. The hair preparation has already done its work.

Wendy’s Note

Obstructive Sleep Apnea Impacts Women Differently.

0

There are at least a dozen reasons why women may wake up with a headache, jitter with anxiety, or struggle to keep their eyes open at work, no matter how well they think they slept: menstruation, menopause, motherhood—the list truly goes on. But these symptoms, as vague as they are, could actually stem from a health condition that’s historically been deemed a “male disease”: obstructive sleep apnea, or OSA.

If you immediately pictured an older man snoozing on a couch and snoring like a lawn mower, you’re not alone. It wasn’t until the ’90s that researchers first recognized that OSA, which causes you to repeatedly stop breathing while asleep, often presents differently in women than it does in men. For starters women with the condition may not even snore.

There’s still much to discover about the biology underlying these distinctions, but research suggests that hormonal fluctuations throughout life, differences in upper airway anatomy, and even social stigmas about how women should sleep are likely at play.

“The disease itself was defined in men,” explains Jennifer Martin, PhD, a behavioral sleep medicine specialist and professor at Florida International University’s Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine in Miami. “The way men and women breathe when they’re asleep is not the same, and our definition of the disease doesn’t account for that.”

Although obstructive sleep apnea appears to be less common and typically milder in women (at least before menopause), studies suggest that the consequences of the disease, if left untreated, can be similar, if not worse, for us, making it vital to learn the signs and seek help. Here’s what we know about obstructive sleep apnea and its impact on women. Plus, experts explain how to advocate for the best care if you think you may have the condition.

How and why sleep apnea differs in women

Sleep apnea is one of several conditions that fall under the sleep-disordered breathing umbrella. The most common type is OSA, which happens when your upper airway repeatedly collapses during sleep, making it harder for air to reach your lungs, says Anita Valanju Shelgikar, MD, a sleep medicine physician with University of Michigan Health and president of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.

The textbook symptoms of this condition—which, for the record, were determined based on studies mostly involving men—include loud snoring and dramatic gasps for air as a person tries to continue breathing while asleep. But this often isn’t the case for women, Dr. Shelgikar tells SELF. Instead, women with OSA are more likely to have nightmares, wake up multiple times a night, have trouble staying asleep, and deal with insomnia, which then causes symptoms like daytime fatigue, morning headaches, and mood swings. Women also have more hypopneas (shallow breaths with less oxygen flow), whereas men tend toward apneas (complete pauses in breathing).
