Unlike it’s fashion sis, Jackie’s lil bouff has been making a quieter, more measured re-entry into pop culture. In 2024, actress Hailee Steinfeld chose the elegant style to pair with a slinky black and gold cut-out gown for the premiere of Netflix series, Arcane. Last year, model Gigi Hadid teamed up with her long-time hairstylist, Dimitris Giannetos, to create a style they dubbed “the Jackie-O bob” in homage to Jackie Kennedy (later Jackie Onassis’) trademark hairstyle. And, singer, Raye has long made the voluminous retro bob a defining signature of her aesthetic, with the glam cut, still a core part of her style. Elsewhere, Zendaya, Selena Gomez and Kendall Jenner have all flirted with the trend.
Look for a through-line in fashion and beauty and it’s clear things are getting a whole load more prissy. Dainty clasped-clutch bags, Audrey Hepburn-style capri pants, elegant kitten eyeliner and polished French pleat updos have all become breakout trends in their own right.
