Kety Takeaways
- Sabrina Carpenter wore a wintery polka dot manicure for the Variety Hitmakers 2025 brunch.
- She paired the nails with soft glam and a gown that offered her own take on the Ralph Lauren Christmas trend.
Are you of the mindset that polka dots are only for summer? That’s nonsense. If this year has proven anything, it’s that polka dots are always in—and might look even cuter in the cold months.
Don’t get me wrong: the pattern is still nonsense! But it’s nonsense in the “A Nonsense Christmas” by Sabrina Carpenter sense. Fun nonsense, as a bunch of tiny dots painted against the background color of your choosing should be.

Over the weekend, Carpenter attended the Variety Hitmakers 2025 brunch event in Los Angeles where she was named the hitmaker of the year. Taking the stage to accept her award, she showed off the cutest black-and-white polka dot manicure.
The artist’s nails were filed into a short, rounded shape before they were painted with a milky white base coat. (Could it be her regular nail artist Zola Ganzorigt’s go-to Funny Bunny by OPI?) Then, they were stamped with a multitude of tiny black dots.

Like the rest of us, dots have been Carpenter’s go-to nail art pattern this year. The difference is that she’s one of the stars who kicked off the trend. Back in June, Ganzorigt gave her a white-on-white polka dot manicure for her “Manchild” music video. She’s been loving the look off and on since.

The Rest of the Look
For her breakfast-slash-lunch date on the town, the 26-year-old gave the Ralph Lauren Christmas trend her own spin in a pale strapless Ralph Lauren silk patchwork gown from the designer’s Spring ’03 collection. (Again, she defies the seasons.)

Her famous blonde curls were styled into messy beach waves instead of a bouncy vintage blowout, and her makeup artist Carolina Gonzalez went with a lighter glam look that included bright, liner-less eyes, a blurry lip, and plenty of blush.
The key word here was softand though there were aspects of her look that screamed spring and summer, she was undeniably in Brinaclaus mode. How do I know this?! She gave us a present! Glam inspo to last us all winter (and spring, summer, fall) long.
