Masks Affecting Lash Retention? Try Our Top Tips – Eyelash Emporium

0

A large amount of moisture is gathered in the masks during the treatment, which is then coming out the top of the mask, on to the lashes. Moisture cures the eyelash extension adhesive, so therefore the adhesive is curing a lot faster than you are used to, and therefore not being properly attached.
A few recommendations we have to resolve this are:

Use Disposable Masks
Change clients masks to a disposable mask before the treatment, we find these are a lot easier to tape down, reducing moisture coming out the top.

Transpore Tape
Tape top of mask down with Transpore Tape, as this is a stickier tape, we find it works better.

Master Artist Adhesive
Switch to our Master Artist Adhesive, if not already using. This glue works in a wider humidity range, and therefor would be more suitable for the additional moisture, and not affect the setting times.

Reduce The Temperature In Your Room
Have a cooler room, not the most suitable tip as its getting colder outside, but this will speed down the setting time of the glue, to counteract the additional moisture.

Ask Clients To Keep Talking To A Minimum
Ask the clients not to talk, this creates even more moisture, and means the masks will be moving, releasing moisture.

Use A Humidifier
Buy a humidifier, to keep a constant check on the humidity and temperature in the room using a hygrometer.

4 Make-Ahead Berry Smoothie Recipes Perfect for Summer

0

Smoothies are one of the healthiest (and tastiest) breakfasts around, but seriously—who wants to be lugging out the blender every morning? This is where smoothie hacks come in to play.

Not only can you freeze a month’s worth of prepped smoothie ingredients ahead of time to make the process as painless as possible; you can also freeze the entire smoothie in an ice cube tray, pop the cubes into a mason jar and let the smoothie melt in the fridge overnight, in the car on your commute, or in the fridge at work. Genius!

Here are 4 summery make ahead smoothies that are perfect for this method.

Make-Ahead Smoothie Cubes

But despite my obsession, smoothies can be notoriously high maintenance. Between the gathering, washing and chopping (every. single. time.) they can get tiresome real fast. But that’s where smoothie bombs come in.

These pre-portioned smoothie boosters drastically cut down on prep time. And they add a dose of superfood nutrition to your smoothie. Simply toss ‘em in a blender with a little fruit and some water and blend.

Frozen Make-Ahead Smoothie CubesFrozen Make-Ahead Smoothie Cubes

You can make smoothie bombs with pretty much anything: coconut oil, hemp seeds, chlorella, cacao, you name it. I highly recommend playing around with flavors and switching things up to make sure you’re always getting different nutrients in your diet.

Acai Berry Power Smoothie

Acai Berry Smoothie RecipeAcai Berry Smoothie Recipe

This berry blend is one of my all-time favorites. It’s packed with superfoods like goji and acai berries, which have antioxidants that help protect cells from damage caused by free radicals.

It’s also packed with low-sugar raspberries, blackberries and blueberries. Just one cup of berries has 3 grams of fiber, more lycopene than a tomato and more vitamin C than a medium orange. They’re also an excellent source of fiber, folate and potassium.

I also add some coconut and flax seeds for additional vitamins, antioxidants and healthy fats.

Summer Glow Blueberry Smoothie

4 Make-Ahead Berry Smoothie Recipes Perfect for Summer4 Make-Ahead Berry Smoothie Recipes Perfect for Summer

This tasty smoothie is the ideal summer morning drink, giving you a beauty boost from the inside out.

We all know that optimal hydration is a must for glowing skin, so putting cucumber in this smoothie is a no-brainer. Coconut water is also very hydrating, while still being a good source of antioxidants [source]. It has anti-aging effects [source]and due to its vitamin C content, it can also protect the skin from damage [source].

Blueberries contain plenty of fiber and antioxidants. A compound called anthocyanin is actually responsible not just for the color of these berries, but also for many of their health benefits [source].

Strawberry Dreams Smoothie

Make-Ahead Strawberry Smoothie RecipeMake-Ahead Strawberry Smoothie Recipe

Blueberries aren’t the only berries you’ll want to eat all the time during hot summer months. Blackberries and strawberries also come with a plethora of health and beauty benefits.

With 31mg of vitamin C per 100g, as well as good quantities of vitamin K, folate, and calcium [source]blackberries potentially improve your brain health [source] and could help with oral hygiene, too [source]. It’s like taking a multivitamin, the natural way.

Anthocyanin is a compound of strawberries that is responsible for the fruit’s antioxidant benefits [source]. With a significant content of fiber, strawberries also function as food for gut bacteria, which improve digestive health and can speed up metabolism [source].

Avocado adds omega-3s and a creamy texture, and lime cuts the sweetness of the berries.

Good Mood Blackberry Smoothie

Adjust your ‘tude with this soothing smoothie full of protein, fiber and mood-boosting maca powder.

Maca powder will energize you due to its content of vitamin B6, vitamin C, iron, manganese, and potassium [source]. It’s also a good source of fiber, which is crucial for gut health and maintaining a healthy weight [source].

To add protein to this smoothie, we used almond butter, which is highly nutritious [source] and antioxidant-packed due to its high content of vitamin E.

What we use and why – a guide to the powerful natural botanicals behind Merindah Botanicals.

Different Types of Harmful Lights and How to Protect Yourself Against – skinfo

0

The electromagnetic spectrum contains a wide range of different types of electromagnetic energy. Radiation is the energy that travels and spreads out as it goes. At our office, we use light therapy devices and lasers to treat the skin for a wide variety of medical to cosmetic procedures. Our staff specializes in understanding the physics of a safely controlled laser to fit your specific needs and care for your best outcome. ‘Protect your investment’ regarding your skin health outside your in-office treatments. Your skin will thank you in the future. What happens when you leave the office? Chances are you are still exposed to some uncontrolled radiation every day.

UV (Ultraviolet) Radiation: There are three types of ultraviolet radiation caused by the sun. UVA (aging) rays have a longer wavelength meaning they penetrate the skin deep into the dermis causing photodamage and skin cancers. UVB (burning) rays cause sunburns and affect the epidermis. UVC rays are the most harmful. UVC rays are blocked mainly by the ozone layer, which, unfortunately, depletes daily. So how can you protect yourself? Use a Broad-Spectrum SPF daily with at least 5% Zinc Oxide or higher, like skinfo® Vital Tea Protect ($49, 3.6 oz), and reapply every 90 minutes, wear sun protective clothing, and avoid ozone-depleting products.

Infrared (IR) Radiation: A radiation that we cannot necessarily see, but we can feel with heat. Although many things can emit IR radiation, the sun and fire are the most familiar. Damage from IR rays can exacerbate inflammation in the skin. Heat can create an unwanted form of melanocytes that can worsen melasma or any hyperpigmentation issues. Protection: Look for sunscreens that contain mineral filters, like EltaMD® UV Elements ($40.00, 2 oz), skincare products rich in antioxidants, and sun-protective clothing.

HEV (Blue Light) Radiation: We are exposed to this kind of light all day long while we sit in front of any screen. HEV light comes from our smartphones, computer screens, tablets, and even binging that Yellowstone series. HEV damage on our skin can cause premature aging and hyperpigmentation. HEV light also affects our eyes and sleep cycles. Protection: Look for sunscreens containing iron oxides, like Colorescience Sunforgettable® Total Protection Face Shield Flex ($49, 1.8 oz), put down the phone at least 1 hour before bed, and look for HEV protection on your reading glasses/contact lenses.

Knoll Packaging creates cellulose-based refill for Guerlain

0

The American manufacturer of packaging solutions has co-developed with the French brand a refill produced from its material Knoll Ecoform Molded Pulp.

According to Knoll Packaging This innovative refill is the result of more than three years of joint research and development. The innovation teams of the two companies worked together to design, test and validate a solution based on molded cellulose pulp capable of protecting the delicate formula of the Imperial Orchid Longevity Cream by Guerlain. “ It was necessary to create new methods to evaluate its performance and meet Guerlain’s strict quality requirements. More than 9500 samples have been produced and more than 80 leak tests have been carried out », explains Knoll Packaging.

The development required overcoming a series of functional and aesthetic challenges. Indeed, molded cellulose pulp is generally used in secondary packaging; the Knoll Ecoform solution had to be adapted to protect the product and guarantee the integrity of the cream. A polymer film has thus been integrated into the packaging to guarantee the conservation of the product.

To meet the aesthetic requirements of the luxury brand, particular attention was paid to surface treatments and the geometry of the packaging.

Knoll Packaging’s Ecoform molded cellulose pulp is produced from renewable plant-based materials, including bagasse (a by-product of sugarcane processing) and certified wood fibers.

« Our collaboration with Guerlain shows how technical innovation in packaging can accelerate the sustainable transition in the luxury sector. This launch redefines the possibilities offered by molded paste, demonstrating that it can combine high protection and prestige. This is arguably the greatest innovation in Knoll Packaging’s forty-year history. “, explain Noémy Lebound, irectrent Europe the Knol Packaging.

« Eco-design is a driver of innovation at Guerlain, and this unique cellulose refill reflects it. It opens up new perspectives for our products and, more generally, for refills in the cosmetics industry. », added Claire Coletti, Global Sustainable Development Director at Guerlain.

This innovative solution was rewarded at the Formes de Luxe Awards at the Luxe Pack Monaco trade show.

Squalane Serum: The Secret Hydrator Your Skin Has Been Missing

0

If your moisturizer just isn’t cutting it — if your skin feels tight, looks dull, or loses its glow by midday — the missing piece might not be another cream. It’s a squalane serum.

Lightweight yet deeply hydrating, squalane serums mimic your skin’s natural oilslocking in moisture, balancing your complexion, and leaving your skin soft, luminous, and radiant.

Paired with vitamin C, as in Joanna Vargas Rescue Vitamin C + Squalane Serum, it delivers hydration, radiance, and antioxidant protection — a true red-carpet essential.

Key Benefits

  • Deep Hydration: Squalane restores skin’s natural moisture barrier

  • Instant Radiance: Vitamin C brightens dull skin and promotes youthful glow

  • Even Tone: Reduces dark spots and uneven pigmentation

  • Lightweight Finish: Absorbs quickly, no heaviness or residue

  • Universal Formula: Safe for all skin types, including sensitive or acne-prone

1. The Science Behind Squalane

Your skin naturally produces squalenebut production decreases with age, leading to dryness, fine lines, and a compromised barrier.

The Rescue Serum uses olive-derived squalanea clean, non-comedogenic ingredient that glides on like a dry oil, sealing in hydration while leaving skin soft, supple, and radiant.

2. Vitamin C + Squalane: A Perfect Pair

  • Squalane locks in moisture

  • Vitamin C (Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate) brightens, protects, and boosts collagen

  • Oil-soluble and gentle, it won’t oxidize or irritate sensitive skin

Together, they:

  • Hydrate dry, tired skin

  • Improve elasticity

  • Fade sun spots and discoloration

  • Restore luminous, even tone

This dual-action formula hydrates like an oil, performs like an active, and feels like silk — making it a red-carpet favorite.

3. A Red-Carpet Essential

As Joanna says: “This is my red-carpet essential for glowing skin.”

  • Absorbs instantly — no greasy finish

  • Perfect for morning prep or evening recovery

  • Delivers instant luminosity under makeup and long-lasting nourishment overnight

4. How to Use for Maximum Glow

  1. Cleanse with a gentle Joanna Vargas Cleanser

  2. Apply 2–3 drops to face, neck, and décolletage on clean, dry skin

  3. Tap gently until absorbed

  4. Follow with moisturizer or a face mask for added nourishment

Use morning and evening for best results

5. The Joanna Vargas Difference

Not all serums are created equal. Rescue Serum stands out because:

  • Formulated without preservatives

  • Squalane helps stabilize vitamin C

  • Elderberry extract provides an extra antioxidant boost, protecting against environmental stressors

The result: brighter, healthier, more resilient skin over time.

The Bottom Line

For hydration, protection, and radiance in one bottlethe Rescue Vitamin C + Squalane Serum delivers it all. Lightweight yet potent, clean yet luxurious — the perfect blend of science and self-care.

Because glowing skin shouldn’t be complicated — it should just be.
