As the technology and innovation coming out of Korea continue to impress, more brands are entering the US with formulas that go beyond social media virality. And for good reason. The K-beauty landscape is incredibly exciting to explore right now.

Biodance Collagen Mask To Foam Cleanser

Korean cleansing foams are the epitome of basics done well. This Biodance cleanser, however, is perfect for my skin during the warmer months. No, I do not have any collagen-related delusions of a face wash making my skin plumper and firmer. But the formula delivers a very satisfying deep cleanse without stripping the skin barrier.

I will take all the niacinamide, pear fruit extract, collagen, elastin, and hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid because whatever this fusion is, it makes my complexion feel like I just got a facial. Leaving it on for three minutes also makes my pores appear more refined. Will absolutely repurchase.

Madeca Matcha Toning Peeling Gel

This one is so good. If you’re familiar with the iconic Japanese import Cure Natural Aqua Gel, this is exactly that type of surface exfoliant but, dare I say, better? It’s infused with cica extract to soothe, Jeju green tea to deliver antioxidant protection, charcoal powder to detoxify, sake to tone, and a blend of mild acids for surface exfoliation.

The key ingredient is cellulose, which allows the product to collect all the dead cell buildup as you roll it around your clean, dry skin. It has to be dry. It also rinses off easily without the gunked-up particles getting stuck in brows or hairline (it can happen, trust me). I’m floored by how smooth my skin feels after I use this peeling gel. 10/10.

AXIS-Y Triple PDRN Gel Toner

I’m really into toners now that my skin is leaning drier at 45. And this AXIS-Y formula is so juicy, it could technically pass for a gel-like lotion serum. Or even a super lightweight moisturizer. It’s firm in texture, gets drippy as it warms up with your body temperature, and absorbs in seconds.

Powered by fruit-derived PDRN, astaxanthin, cica, ceramide NP, collagen, zinc PCA, and antioxidant-rich botanicals, this soothing solution also feels refreshingly cool on contact. Excellent at calming red, irritated skin, it’s quickly gaining traction in my AM and PM rotations. So far, I’m a fan.

Madeca Time Reverse Cream ZERO

I raved about the original Time Reverse formula in this post and it remains one of the most trafficked pages on my blog. While the product is indeed fantastic, it is not the miracle many claim it to be. With that said, I was curious enough to try the lightweight version since summer in Madrid is absolutely brutal. And I’m so glad I did.

This is the same highly advanced TECA cream (lightyears ahead of products that just use cica extract for soothing) with a lighter consistency and speedy absorption. Infused with a blend of niacinamide, ceramides, and hyaluronic acid, it soothes inflammation and restores a compromised skin barrier effectively. If you’re after a weightless moisturizer that does some heavy lifting this summer, definitely give it a try.

Madeca Cream Hydra Calming

Full disclosure: I’m testing all the Madeca moisturizers for a more elaborate post comparing every formula. This one, unfortunately, seems to be my least favorite of the five. But these are early impressions and my testing process will take a little longer. What I’m trying to say is that my opinion may change.

As the name suggests, the hydra part means the INCI opens with water. Except it’s actually cica leaf water. Focused on soothing, balancing, calming, and restoring hydration levels, this moisturizer is laser-focused on its task. Of all the Madeca creams I have tried, it’s the only one with a gel-cream consistency, making it great for oily skin types. I need more time to play around with this one. Stay tuned.

Madeca Powder Tea Tree AC

I picked this up on a whim. And I am so glad I did. It’s a cream-to-powder solution packed with TECA, tea tree oil, and allantoin to soothe troubled areas, help with excess oil production, and minimize the appearance of enlarged pores. It’s not a powder you use with a brush. You dispense a small amount on the tip of your finger and press it directly into skin.

I use it on my nose (and sometimes my forehead) and it melts in without a trace. There is no powdery finish, no product flaking away, just a smooth, matte complexion that looks way better than before. I plan to never be without this thing going forward.

Madeca Micro Stratoc Serum

This one may not be for me. On paper, this Madeca serum intrigued me. TECA, Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5, Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7, bisabolol, niacinamide, antioxidant-rich botanicals. Everything sounds right up my alley.

In practice, we’re not getting along. Not only is the lightweight texture sticky on the skin, it dries slightly tacky, making it not very friendly with other formulas I like to layer. And then there is the scent. I’m all for herbal or even medicinal notes. This smells like a root vegetable pulled straight out of the ground. I detect parsnip or celeriac but also damp soil, and it’s not great. At all. Purchase at your own risk.

Madeca TECA-RETINOLSOM 0.2+ Firming Serum

I’m obsessed. As a prescription retinoid user, I take a break from my Rx-strength formulas during the summer months. Instead, I opt for gentler everyday options. This Madeca serum is exquisite. Retinol and bakuchiol handle the firming while ceramides protect the skin barrier, trehalose and beta glucan prevent TEWL, and countless botanicals deliver anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial perks.

My low-effort, high-expectations PM routine involves this serum under Hello Le Balm and I wake up to freakishly good skin.

Isntree GIM PDRN Hydro Bouncy Ampoule

What a find. If you enjoy silky-yet-stretchy serums that deliver an abundance of hydration but never feel sticky, this is it. Isntree pairs algae-derived PDRN with glycerin, beta glucan, and adenosine to plump and soothe the skin instantly. I mist my face first, apply a couple of pumps of this bouncy thing, and follow with moisturizer.

My skin drinks it like it’s its job. I love that there is no scent and the formula layers like a dream with everything else. If you use my face oil application method, this one is spectacular for mixing with your favorite facial oil.

APLB Sheet Masks

I know I’m not the only one getting crafty to reach that free shipping threshold. This is how I discovered APLB sheet masks. Admittedly, I loathe paper sheet masks. And these are not the easiest to unfold (that goopy wet blob you pull out of the pouch requires patience). But once they’re on, the fit is ideal, they stay put, and most importantly: they work. All you need is 15 minutes.

The ingredient-specific formulas vary depending on your long-term skincare goal, but the hydration is identical across the range. I’m partial to Glutathione/Niacinamide and Collagen/EGF Peptide, but like I said, I’m here for the forced hydration and boost of overall radiance. A good sheet mask should make you look rested.
