Paper and cardboard maker Forest Board has been recognized for its leadership in corporate transparency and performance on climate change, forests, and water security by the global environmental non-profit CDP.

Based on data reported through CDP’s 2025 Climate Change, Forests, and Water Security questionnaires, Metsä Board is among an exceptionally select group of companies worldwide to achieve a Triple A rating – out of nearly 20,000 companies scored. In 2024, Metsä Board was one of only eight companies globally to receive this distinction.

“With a 56% reduction in fossil-based Scope 1 and 2 CO₂ emissions from 2018 to 2024, we are already below the 1.5°C Paris-aligned 2030 emissions level. [1] We are on track to achieve further emissions reductions this year. The high score in CDP assessments year after year confirms our systematic work across all three areas: climate, forests, and water,” says Esa Kaikkonen, CEO of Metsä Board.

2025 marks the fourth time Metsä Board has earned CDP’s Triple A rating. This year also marks the company’s tenth appearance on CDP’s Climate A List and Water A List, and the fourth time on the Forest A List. Metsä Board’s progress toward its 2030 climate and water targets is outlined in a detailed, interactive roadmap available on the company’s website (www.metsagroup.com).

CDP’s annual environmental disclosure and scoring process is widely recognized as the leading standard for corporate environmental transparency. The full list of companies on this year’s A List will be published on CDP’s website in early 2026, along with other publicly available company scores: www.cdp.net/en/data/scores.
