I wish I could make all your holiday dreams come true this year, but I can only help check a few things off the wishlist. Shall we unwrap the gifts?! The first: Two of your favorite holiday rom-com leads are reuniting. There’s a good concealer involved, too.

Actually, maybe that does cross everything off? I’m not sure what else you could ever want.

As part of their 20205 holiday campaign, Maybelline is releasing a microdrama called Maybe This Christmas. The five-part series stars Hot Frosty’s Lacey Chabert and Dustin Milligan. Plus Maybelline’s Instant Age Rewind Eraser Concealer.

The Story

The microdrama follows two NYC neighbors flirting through their windows as they prepare for the holidays. There’s a Christmas decoration box collision meet-cute, of course. And then…

“What begins as a cozy romance quickly unravels into a mystery about love, illusion, and what we choose to conceal—leaving viewers wondering if Lacey is hiding more than just dark circles under her eyes,” shared the brand.

Chabert is always hoping to put people in the holiday spirit, bringing a little “love and joy and comfort” through the stories she tells.

“When this opportunity came along, I was so excited to reunite with Dustin because he’s just absolutely wonderful,” she tells Byrdie. “And then also to tell a holiday story that’s really whimsical and, you know, a slightly different version of [Hot Frosty]. And it has this kind of genre-bending twist to it that I thought was really, really fun and lighthearted.”

The Process

“I love telling stories that are centered around the holidays because of the traditions, because I enjoy the holidays so much in real life,” Chabert says.

As far as collaborating once again with the Hot Frosty? Chabert says reuniting with her co-star was a delight—especially because you never know when you’ll have the chance to work with someone again.

“He always wants to make sure you’re comfortable,” she explains. “He’d ad lib great stuff and always brought a lot of creativity to every scene. He’s kind and funny and always has wonderful ideas. And we just had a really fun day together on set.”

The Products

Chabert looked like a natural in the microdrama… probably because she is. It’s often questionable, but this star was definitely born with it.

Still, having her favorite Maybelline products on set helped her get in character.

“I actually love this product so much. The Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer is something that I’ve had in my makeup kit for a really long time,” she says. “It’s so easy to apply, it comes in great shades, it’s moisturizing, it’s medium to full coverage.”

Besides using the product on her under-eyes, the Mean Girls star appreciates a lighter shade as a highlighter every once in a while.

“You can even use a darker shade for a little bit of a contour, if you want,” she adds. “And the thing is, it’s very user friendly. It’s easy to apply.”

Aside from covering dark circles to perfect her looks this season, the icon is a big fan of Maybelline’s mascaras. And a holiday red lip, naturally.

“Getting dressed to go to a holiday party is always really fun and exciting,” she says. “I find I’m more drawn to [a bold lip] during the holiday season, especially if I’m dressing up. I think it’s a fun way to complete a look.”
