In an era of post quiet luxury careful consumption, styling becomes all-important. Some say stylists were the unsung heroes of the recent menswear shows (I concur!) and they demonstrate plenty of ways to invigorate an existing wardrobe without extra outlay.
One of my favourite tricks is doubling up and I’m seeing this play out a lot on runways and IRL. I’ve already covered double shirts and the layered tees from Celine SS26. Some other easy multiples to consider…
Double belts are becoming a regular feature of Michael Rider’s Celine collections (below) and there’s also an argument for wearing a belt on naked skin, with another looser one over your clothes for an erotic charge à la Hermes in Harper’s Bazaar (below).

Onto bags, this mini-meets-medium bag duo, candidly captured by Tommy Ton (top) is practical and irreverent. Two contrasting coloured and sized leather bum bags could work too (some inspo via Hermes, Wolf & Badger*, Saint Laurent* and The Poles).
Jewellery-wise, two pendant necklaces of different lengths on a bare decolletage, as seen at Jennifer Alfano (below) is a great styling trick for minimalists. And two statement bangles (or more) are all it would take to elevate a simple look to something dramatic and deco-coded. Celine took the bangle stack to extreme for SS26 (below), but in fact the origin goes way back to 1920s shipping heiress Nancy Cunard and her layers of African polished wood, lacquer and ivory bangles (this is a fascinating read). Celine was founded not long after, so that’s a fun joining of dots. For the ultimate bangle pairing, don’t overlook Tiffany for an Elsa Peretti bone cuff coupled with a black, ivory or red lacquer Japanese wood bangle – sigh!
