10 High-Protein Vegetables to Try If You Just Can’t Take Any More Beans

0

Veggies have many all-star nutrients—fiber, antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals, to name a few—but protein isn’t typically considered one of them. And that holds particularly true for classics like lettuce, celery, and cucumbers. In fact, many of the most protein-packed foods are on the opposite end of the culinary spectrum, including lean meats like chicken and turkey and dairy products like milk and cheese.

To be clear, there are some excellent plant-based protein sources out there (think: nuts, seeds, and legumes like lentils, lima beans, fava beans, black beans, and chickpeas), so you’re not completely SOL if you prefer to avoid animal products. But you can only rely on those staples for so long before your taste buds start screaming for some variety. (Besides, “not everyone can handle large amounts of beans without having extreme discomfort in their GI system,” including gnarly symptoms like gas and bloating, Amanda Averett, MS, RD, a registered dietitian at Redefined Nutrition, tells SELF.)

So to help you diversify your plant-based protein sources, we put together a list of high-protein vegetables with a focus on veggie veggies (you know, the classic green kinds that immediately spring to mind when you hear the word “vegetable”). While these 12 options are rich in the macronutrient compared to others, it’s important to keep your expectations in check: “You’re never going to get all the protein you need from leafy green vegetables,” Christine Byrne, MPH, RD, a registered dietitian and the owner of Ruby Oak Nutrition in Raleigh, North Carolina, tells SELF. “If a vegetable has more than two grams of protein per serving, that is on the higher end, and that’s still not a ton.”

Nevertheless, a little can go a long way. Ranked below in order of highest protein content to lowest, these 12 options may not pack enough to propel you to the recommended daily amount (0.8 grams per 2.2 pounds of body weight) on their own. But they will contribute a few more grams to every meal (at least!)—and that, in turn, could help keep you full that much longer.

1. Edamame

Protein content: around nine grams per half-cup serving (cooked)

Like the beans we mentioned, edamame is a legume rather than a veggie proper (an immature soybean, to be precise), but it’s different, and, in our opinion, veggie-y enough that we decided to include it here. (Its bright emerald hue definitely works in its favor.) You can eat edamame as a stand-alone snack, as you probably know if you’ve ever been to an Asian restaurant (pro tip: try sprinkling on salt or drizzling on soy sauce for some added flavor), or as part of a larger dish. “I love adding edamame into a salad or a soup,” Jasmine Hormati, MS, RD, a certified intuitive eating counselor and the founder of the New York City–based practice Mendinground Nutrition, previously told SELF. What’s more, the protein in edamame is particularly nutritionally robust, since soybeans are one of the few plant-based foods considered a complete protein (meaning they contain all nine essential amino acids the body can’t produce on its own).

2. Brussels sprouts

Protein content: around four to six grams per one-cup serving

Trichologist Helena Gibson’s Holistic Approach to Hair Health & Her Natural Product Line — Posh Lifestyle & Beauty Blog

0

Posh Lifestyle & Beauty Blog: What motivated you to create Unveil Restorative Hair Care? Was there a specific gap or need in the market that you identified?

Helena Gibson: I have spent my career in every facet of the hair care industry from styling celebrities’ hair, to writing a book, being an educator and owning and operating two successful hair replacement studios.

I’ve tried and sold it all – new products, new types of hair extensions, the latest wig crazes, the DIY hacks – and I realized there was something missing in the prestige beauty industry. Many of our clients would share that they did not want to use products containing minoxidil and synthetic ingredients and were desperate for clean ingredients that wouldn’t cause harmful side effects but did not sacrifice the efficacy they so desired.

My goal is to educate people on the importance of the mental toll that hair loss can have on our confidence & self-esteem. To achieve this, I set out to create a line of clean, natural products that address hair breakage, shedding, and thinning without toxic chemicals. I decided to develop my own product, my way. This is how Unveil Restorative Hair Care was born.

Posh Lifestyle & Beauty Blog: How does your background in trichology influence the formulation of your hair care products?

Helena Gibson: As a trichologist, I have a deep knowledge of health, shedding, loss, damage, breakage, thickness, products, wigs, extensions, and more. I am also certified for men’s hair replacement, women’s hair augmentation, and medical hair loss. My background in trichology has informed and inspired the formulation of my hair care products in several ways. My in-depth knowledge of hair anatomy, including the hair shaft, follicle, and scalp, and my training to diagnose various hair and scalp conditions, such as hair loss, as well as continuing to stay abreast of scientific research have all helped in formulating my products with effective and safe ingredients, such as plant stem cells and tetrapeptide-3.

Posh Lifestyle & Beauty Blog: Can you walk us through the process of developing your hair care products? What factors do you consider when formulating them?

Helena Gibson: Launching the Unveil Restorative Hair Care line has been most interesting and fulfilling. From concept to creation, it has been quite a journey. It took two years to perfect the formula for Unveil. Studying and learning about clean, non-toxic ingredients to put into our products. Working with our formulator to get the same efficacy as synthetic products. You might wonder why is this such an effort and critical part of the journey? Because what we put into our bodies and on our bodies affects our overall system. It’s all absorbed. That’s why it was important to me to create products that are non-toxic, sustainable, vegan, cruelty-free, fragrance-free, gluten-free, silicone-free, hormone-disruptor-free, carcinogen-free, irritant-free, anti-aging, and award-winning.

Posh Lifestyle & Beauty Blog: What sets Unveil Restorative Hair Care apart from other hair care brands on the market?

Helena Gibson: I want to inspire women and men to feel the best they can, so they can show up authentically in the world. We all feel better when our hair looks good and it changes the way we interact with family, friends, and basically the world. Unveil harnesses the power of plant stem cells and tetrapeptide-3, creating an ecosystem that promotes thicker, fuller hair growth and reduces shedding and breakage. Unveil only offers non-toxic, clean, sustainable, cruelty-free, and restorative hair-care products that promote a personal state of wellness, so we feel confident and can show up as our best self.

Posh Lifestyle & Beauty Blog: How do you ensure that your products cater to a diverse range of hair types and concerns?

Helena Gibson: Because my products are natural, they are suitable for all hair types, including curly, straight, oily, dry, and color-treated hair. It’s also important that my products are well tolerated by sensitive skin and hair types and by using natural ingredients, I ensure that my products are suitable for a wide range of individuals.

Posh Lifestyle & Beauty Blog: Your brand emphasizes the importance of natural ingredients. Could you elaborate on the benefits of using natural ingredients in hair care products?

Helena Gibson: Natural ingredients are so critical for hair care products – and for overall wellbeing.

First, they are gentler on the scalp and our hair, more easily tolerated, and are less likely to cause irritation or allergic reactions compared to synthetic ingredients.

Second, natural ingredients, such as plant oils, botanical extracts, and fruit extracts, are rich in vitamins, antioxidants, and nutrients that nourish and moisturize our hair and scalp. Because natural ingredients are often sourced from renewable plant-based sources, they are more sustainable and environmentally friendly than synthetic ingredients – plus  they are free of harmful chemicals like sulfates, parabens, and synthetic fragrances!

Posh Lifestyle & Beauty Blog: Can you share a particularly memorable success story or moment in your career that reaffirmed your passion for trichology and hair care?

Helena Gibson: I was recently on a heath retreat and learned more about how genetics play such a small role in the expression of our genes compared to our diet and the products we’re exposed to. We have more control over our overall health than I think most people realize. This has fascinated me the last few years and definitely contributes to the product formulations we are creating here at Unveil Hair Care.

Posh Lifestyle & Beauty Blog: How do you stay informed about the latest advancements and trends in trichology and hair care?

Helena Gibson: I attended many seminars and trainings throughout the year. I also subscribe to and read our industry trade publications as they come out. Finally, I’m part of some industry associations where we mingle with others in our industry to share ideas and business strategies.

Posh Lifestyle & Beauty Blog: What advice would you give to aspiring trichologists or entrepreneurs looking to enter the hair care industry?

Helena Gibson: I’d tell them to choose education and certificate programs that provide comprehensive training in the anatomy, physiology, and pathology of the hair and scalp. And then combine that education with practical experience as well because it is crucial for developing clinical skills and working with clients. Look for internships, apprenticeships, or even volunteer opportunities at clinics or salons. It’s also important to stay informed about the latest research in trichology by continuing to develop professionally by attending conferences and networking with other professionals in the field.

Plant Stem Cells for Skin: 6 Things To Know

0

We’re focused on beauty products that are good for our skin, good for our overall health, and good for the environment. That’s why we’re so excited to talk about the role of plant stem cells in skincare.

In this article, we will dive into the science behind plant stem cells, their applications in skincare, and the six most essential things you need to know about incorporating them into your beauty routine.

What Are Plant Stem Cells?

Plant stem cells are cells that are found in the meristems of plants. The meristem is an area of actively dividing, undifferentiated plant cells. They are essential for growth and development, which is why they are so useful in skincare applications.

These cells can develop into any type of cell within the plant, making them crucial for regeneration. Unlike human cells, plant cells can be ethically and sustainably harvested without harming the plant itself.

Key characteristics of plant stem cells include:

  • Totipotency: The ability to develop into any cell type
  • Self-Renewal: The capacity to divide and create more stem cells
  • Regeneration: The power to repair and replace damaged tissues

In the world of skincare, scientists have found a way to harness the regenerative properties of plant stem cells to create potent, natural ingredients that can benefit our skin.

What Are the Applications for Plant Stem Cells?

The use of plant stem cells in skincare has revolutionized the beauty industry. These powerful ingredients are now found in a wide range of products, from serums to moisturizers to eye creams.

Some of the most popular applications for plant stem cells include:

  • Anti-aging treatments
  • Skin repair and regeneration
  • Protection against environmental stressors
  • Hydration and nourishment
  • Brightening and evening skin tone

How Can Plant Stem Cells Benefit the Skin?

Plant stem cells offer a multitude of benefits for your skin, making them a valuable addition to any skincare routine.

A few key advantages of adding plant stem cells to your repertoire include:

  • Maintaining collagen production: Plant stem cells can stimulate the skin’s natural collagen production, helping to improve elasticity and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
  • Supporting cells during oxidative stress: Rich in antioxidants, plant stem cells help support the skin during exposure to free radical damage caused by environmental factors like UV rays and pollution.
  • Supporting normal cell turnover: By supporting the proper regeneration of skin cells, plant stem cells can help improve skin’s texture and tone.
  • Boosting hydration: Many plant stem cells have humectant properties, helping to attract and retain moisture in the skin.
  • Supporting skin barrier function: Plant stem cells can help strengthen the skin’s natural protective barrier, improving overall skin health and resilience.

Are Plant Stem Cells More Effective Than Other Ingredients?

Plant stem cells are not necessarily more effective than other ingredients — they’re just another tool to add to your skincare arsenal. Scientific studies have proven their efficacy, and they are definitely worth including in your skincare routine.

Other well-established anti-aging ingredients like retinoids, peptides, and vitamin C remain highly effective options, and can be safely combined with plant stem cells for fabulous results.

As always, a comprehensive skincare approach using a combination of effective ingredients is likely to yield the best results when it comes to reducing the signs of aging.

6 Things To Know About Plant Stem Cells for Your Skin

Now that we’ve talked about some of the basics, here’s what to know about using stem cells for your skincare.

1. Plant Stem Cells Are Not the Same as Human Stem Cells

It’s important to understand that plant stem cells are fundamentally different from human stem cells. While they share some similar properties, plant stem cells cannot directly replace human skin cells.

Instead, they work by providing powerful nutrients and growth factors that support the skin’s natural regenerative processes.

2. Different Plant Stem Cells Offer Different Benefits

Various plants provide stem cells with distinct properties and benefits for the skin. For example:

  • Grape Stem Cells: Rich in antioxidants, they help protect against UV damage and promote skin elasticity.
  • Apple Stem Cells: Known for their ability to promote longevity in skin cells and reduce the appearance of wrinkles.
  • Echinacea Stem Cells: Offer soothing properties and help support skin hydration.

Our Stem Cellular Anti-Wrinkle Moisturizer combines the power of grape and apple stem cells to deliver comprehensive anti-aging benefits.

3. Plant Stem Cells Play Well With Others

For optimal results, plant stem cells are often combined with other beneficial skincare ingredients.

Look for products that pair plant stem cells with:

  • Hyaluronic acid for enhanced hydration
  • Vitamin C for brightening and antioxidant protection
  • Peptides for collagen support
  • Niacinamide for skin barrier function

For a nourishing, anti-aging treatment, try our Stem Cellular Vinifera Replenishing Oil, which combines grape stem cells with jojoba and macadamia oils.

4. Consistency Is Key

To experience the full benefits of plant stem cells, it’s essential to use products consistently as part of your daily skincare routine. Most people begin to see results after 406 weeks of regular use, with continued improvement over time.

For example, in a third-party study, participants who used our Stem Cellular Anti-Wrinkle Booster Serum noticed major results after four weeks of consistent use: 95% reported younger and smoother looking skin, as well as improved skin tone and texture.

5. Plant Stem Cells Are Suitable for All Skin Types

One of the great advantages of plant stem cells is their gentle nature, making them suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin.

What you put on your skin is just as important as what you put in your body, and that’s why we prioritize using antioxidant-rich plant stem cells in many of our products.

As with any new skincare product, it’s always a good idea to patch-test before incorporating it into your routine.

6. Look for Products With Stable Formulations

The efficacy of plant stem cells depends on their stability within the product formulation. At Juice Beauty, we use advanced encapsulation technologies to ensure that our plant stem cell ingredients remain potent and effective throughout the product’s shelf life.

Our Stem Cellular Exfoliating Peel Spray is formulated with stable plant stem cells and alpha hydroxy acids for a powerful yet gentle exfoliating treatment.

The Wrap-Up

Plant stem cells represent an exciting new frontier in natural, organic skincare. By harnessing the regenerative power of plants, we can provide our skin with potent, scientifically backed ingredients that promote a healthy, youthful complexion.

At Juice Beauty, we are committed to incorporating these innovative ingredients into our clean, organic formulations to deliver visible results without compromising on safety or sustainability.

The FDA Just Approved a Brain Tumor Warning for Depo-Provera

0

“Meningiomas are especially sensitive to progesterone,” Dr. D’Amico explains. “The Depo-Provera shot contains high doses of a synthetic form of progesterone—medroxyprogesterone acetate—that stays in the body for months at a time. In patients that already have a tiny, asymptomatic meningioma, the worry is that long-term, repeated exposure to this hormone may ‘feed’ the tumor and encourage it to grow to a size where it causes neurologic symptoms.”

While there are many forms of birth control that use progestin, “no increased meningioma risk has been found with combined oral contraceptives, intrauterine devices, progestin-only pills, or subdermal implants,” Andre Beer Furlan, MD, PhD, a surgical oncologist in Moffitt Cancer Center’s Neuro-Oncology Department, tells SELF.

The data doesn’t prove the shot causes meningioma, but it establishes a link.

Meningioma is more common in women who have been through menopause, and there does seem to be a hormone tie-in, Clifford Segil, DO, a neurologist at Providence Saint John’s Health Center in Santa Monica, California, tells SELF. With that, Dr. Segil says that it’s “not unreasonable” to assume that there is something about this form of birth control that may raise the risk of a brain tumor. But he stresses that this link is still being explored.

G. Thomas Ruiz, MD, an ob-gyn at MemorialCare Orange Coast Medical Center in Fountain Valley, CA, also recommends interpreting the link with caution. “The numbers of these meningiomas [in users] are so small,” he says.

Dr. D’Amico agrees. “It’s important to stress though that, even with this increased relative risk, the absolute risk for any individual user is still low,” he says. If you’ve used Depo-Provera in the past, Dr. D’Amico says you’re likely fine. “Once the drug is out of the system, the high dose of the hormone is gone and no longer ‘feeds’ the tumor cells,” he says. “What matters in these patients is symptoms. If you experience persistent headaches, vision changes, seizures, or new neurological problems, then it’s reasonable to seek medical evaluation regardless of contraceptive history.”

What is Mineral Makeup Foundation? 9 Hidden Benefits

0

Made from ethically-sourced minerals like mica, zinc oxide, and titanium dioxide, mineral makeup has many more benefits for your skin than regular makeup. Suitable for sensitive complexions, discover the key benefits of mineral foundation that might help you make the switch.

What Is Mineral Makeup?

Mineral makeup is a category of cosmetics made with finely milled mineral ingredients such as zinc oxide, titanium dioxide, and iron oxides. Most commonly available as loose or pressed powder, these products are known for their lightweight feel and skin-friendly benefits.

What makes mineral cosmetics stand out is what’s left out. Unlike traditional products, mineral foundations are typically free from talc, synthetic fragrance, mineral oil, and other potentially irritating additives. Their smooth texture blends easily, making them ideal for sensitive, acne-prone, or post-treatment skin. Clinically tested and derm-approved, mineral foundations are a go-to choice for those seeking effective cosmetics that support, not stress, their skin.

1.  Mineral Foundation Helps Provide Sun Protection

Used in partnership with your daily SPF, mineral makeup foundation can help defend your skin against the sun’s damaging rays. There are two types of sunscreen—physical and chemical. Chemical sunscreen contains ingredients that absorb the sun’s rays, while physical sunscreen blocks the sun, deflecting UVA and UVB rays. The perfect mineral foundation if you’re looking for added SPF protection will be Luminous Liquid Foundation SPF 18. Or for a hint of a tint with higher factor SPF, try C-Shield Anti-Pollution Moisture Tint.

2. Mineral Makeup Foundation Provides Better Coverage

Traditional cosmetics often contain talc—a bulking agent that leads to a formula that’s heavier and less pigmented. With a poorly pigmented foundation, you’ll need to layer more product to get your desired look and coverage. All our products are talc-free, so you never have to worry about toxicity or bulky, heavy textures.

And, because mineral foundation offers buildable pigment without heaviness, finding your perfect shade is easier, especially once you know how to color match foundation for your skin tone and undertone.

3. Mineral Makeup Looks Great on Camera

“With HD cameras you can see everything,” says Stephanie Panek, Key Makeup Artist on Netflix’s Grace and Frankie. “A makeup artist has to go in and cover any spots, flaws or discoloration with makeup so that it doesn’t show on camera.” She loves using mineral powder foundations because of their natural, full coverage look. “Two of my male actors do not like to wear makeup but allow me to use the mineral foundations because it’s fast, gives full coverage, and it doesn’t look like they are wearing makeup.” Try our HD Mineral Foundation Stick for the perfect photo finish.

4. Mineral Makeup Foundation Won’t Settle into Fine Lines

The best foundation is one that you apply and forget. However, many traditional foundations contain talc, which feels heavy on the skin. Traditional foundation also commonly settles into fine lines and wrinkles, which can cause creasing. Mineral pressed powder and makeup is like a second skin, with a barely-there feel.

5. Mineral Makeup Is Suitable for All Skin Types

Oily, dry, or combination, mineral makeup foundation works well for every skin type. However, your skin type will determine the manner in which you apply your foundation. It’s essential for all skin types to moisturize every morning before applying makeup, so the minerals have a hydrated surface to lie on. For oily and combination skin, use a mattifying powder on your T-zone to keep the midday oil at bay, and for dry skin, use a hydrating mist to hydrate your minerals and refresh your skin.

  • Perfecting Powder

Eliminate shine + blur imperfections with a translucent, flawless finish

6. Mineral Makeup is Sensitive Skin-Friendly

Since mineral makeup is free of skin-irritating ingredients like talc and chemical dyes, it’s a good choice for those with sensitive skin. Minerals are non-occlusive, allowing skin to breathe and function normally without being suffocated. Dermatologists and skincare professionals often use mineral makeup to help protect their clients’ sensitive skin. It effectively helps cover and correct surface redness to conceal the side effects.

7. Mineral Makeup is Good For Acne-Prone Skin

Mineral makeup is good for acne-prone skin for the same reason mineral makeup is good for rosacea. With a non-irritating, non-comedogenic formula, mineral foundation won’t clog your pores, causing further breakouts.

8. Mineral Makeup Foundation is Longwearing

Makeup artists often use mineral makeup on set because it creates a smooth, even complexion and it lasts. Michelle Radow, makeup artist of HBO’s The Brink, says, “Glo Skin Beauty products are such high quality, you can feel it during the application process and see it after a 14 hour shooting day.”

For even longer-lasting results, pair your mineral foundation with a translucent setting powder and primer, especially if you’re curious about what a makeup primer does to improve makeup grip and finish.

9. Mineral Makeup Improves Skin’s Overall Appearance

Makeup artists and derms alike love how skin looks and feels after mineral makeup application. Natural oxides and micro minerals cover and replenish skin, without clogging pores or weighing skin down.

Key Ingredients in Mineral Makeup and Why They Matter

Not all mineral cosmetics are created equal. At Glo Skin Beauty, we carefully select high-performance ingredients that do more than just cover—they help your skin thrive.

  • Zinc oxide: A multitasking mineral that calms irritation and provides physical SPF protection, making it a great choice for breakout-prone complexions. If you’ve ever wondered, Is zinc oxide good for skin, the answer is yes—and it’s one of the hero ingredients in our mineral foundation formulas.
  • Titanium dioxide: Offers additional sun defense while delivering a soft, smooth finish—key to a naturally flawless look.
  • Iron oxides: These naturally derived ingredients provide rich, blendable pigment without the use of synthetic dyes.
  • Mica: Depending on the formula, it adds a subtle radiance or soft-focus glow for a refined, skin-like finish.

These clean, effective ingredients are foundational to our clinically tested products. Glo’s mineral powder foundations are designed to support your skincare goals—combining the best of high-performance cosmetics with targeted skin benefits.

Makeup That Supports Your Skin

From breathable wear to skin-nurturing ingredients, mineral powder foundation offers more than just coverage. It enhances your overall complexion.

Glo Skin Beauty’s skincare-conscious cosmetics are designed to deliver performance and care, with every product crafted to support sensitive, oily, or dry skin. Whether you’re switching from traditional makeup or looking to elevate your routine, mineral foundation is a powerful, skin-first choice.

Intentional Beauty, Elevated Care: Briana Kelly on Winter Skincare, Confidence, and Restoring Your Glow

0

As winter sets in, our skin often feels the effects first—dryness, dullness, and a noticeable loss of glow. For Briana Kelly, founder of B. Beautiful Medical Spa, skincare is about far more than surface-level results. With a background in healthcare and entrepreneurship, she approaches beauty through a lens of intention, education, and overall wellness. From boardroom-ready facials to red-carpet treatments, Briana is redefining aesthetic care by helping women feel confident, balanced, and empowered—inside and out.

Mo Clark: Winter skin can be brutal. As temperatures drop and moisture levels fall, what are the most common mistakes you see clients make when it comes to winter skincare — and what professional advice would you give to help them restore their glow this season?

Briana Kelly: One of the biggest mistakes I see clients make with winter skincare is relying on the same products they use during the summer. As temperatures drop, the skin’s needs change — and using lightweight or non-seasonal products can lead to dryness, irritation, and a compromised barrier. My professional advice is to switch to a hydrating cleanser. Cream or milky formulas help maintain the skin barrier and prevent the tight, dry feeling that’s common after cleansing in colder weather.

MC: From the boardroom to the beauty bar. Your background in healthcare and entrepreneurship uniquely positioned you to launch B Beautiful Medical Spa. How did that transition shape your approach to wellness and aesthetics — and what does intentional beauty mean to you personally?

BK: My healthcare background taught me to prioritize safety, education, and results, while my entrepreneurial experience helped me create a space where women feel cared for from the moment they walk in. For me, intentional beauty means making choices that support your overall well-being — not just looking good, but feeling balanced, confident, and empowered.

MC: B Beautiful is known for its high-end yet deeply restorative treatments like The Boardroom Ready Classic Facial and The Red Carpet Facial. Can you walk us through how these therapies not only rejuvenate the skin but also boost confidence and emotional wellness from within?

BK: Our treatments are designed to do more than give you a glow — they’re meant to restore you. The techniques, ingredients, and overall atmosphere help reduce stress, calm the mind, and allow clients to feel cared for. When your skin feels refreshed and healthy, it naturally boosts confidence and creates a sense of emotional reset.

MC: There’s still a lingering taboo around cosmetic procedures and medical-grade rejuvenation in certain circles. How do you work to debunk the myths around plastic surgery, fillers, and advanced treatments while helping clients embrace self-care without shame?

BK: I focus on education and honest conversations. Many people have outdated ideas about fillers or aesthetic treatments, so I explain what’s safe, what’s natural-looking, and what’s appropriate for their goals. I encourage clients to see these services as self-care — not something to hide, but something that helps them feel like their best selves.

MC: With a new year and new energy approaching, what are your top five expert tips or treatments every woman should consider to reverse holiday stress, combat dullness, and step into the next season with confidence and radiant skin?

BK: To reset your skin for the new season, I recommend a hydrating facial to restore moisture after winter dryness, a chemical peel to refresh the complexion and smooth texture, lymphatic drainage to reduce puffiness and boost circulation, medical-grade skincare for long-term results, and consistent use of SPF and barrier-repair products to maintain your glow and protect your skin daily.

MC: What can we expect for your skin balancing event coming up on December 4th?

BK: At our Skin Balancing Event on December 4th, you can expect live demonstrations, expert insights, and exclusive event-only savings on select treatments and products. Guests will have the chance to watch real-time transformations, ask questions, enjoy refreshments, and receive personalized recommendations tailored to their skin goals. It’s a relaxed, interactive experience designed to educate, inspire, and help you discover what’s new in aesthetic care.

As the year winds down and a new season approaches, Briana’s philosophy remains clear: beauty should never come with guilt or guesswork. Through education, personalized care, and thoughtfully designed treatments, B. Beautiful Medical Spa continues to create a space where self-care feels accessible, restorative, and empowering. With her upcoming Skin Balancing Event on December 4th, Briana invites women to reset, recharge, and step confidently into the next season—glowing, informed, and unapologetically intentional.

Is Timothée Chalamet EsDeeKid? We finally know the rapper’s identity

0

2025 may have been a garbage-fire of a year, but at least we now know whether EsDeeKid and Timothée Chalamet are the same person.

Some mysteries, of course, remain unsolved. How was Stonehenge built? What really happened to Amelia Earhart? Were those really UFOs over the US this summer? And is masked rapper EsDeeKid actually Hollywood icon Timothée Chalamet in disguise?

We might never figure out who put those massive stones in place — or why — but at least we know the truth about EsDeeKid.

Chalamet usually makes headlines for his girlfriend, Kylie Jenner, or his acting prowess, most recently starring alongside Gwyneth Paltrow in Marty Supreme. But amid these star-studded stories, a stranger narrative has emerged: debates over whether the award-winning actor might secretly be Liverpool rapper EsDeeKid.

Who is EsDeeKid and why do people think it’s Timothée Chalamet?

EsDeeKid is a relatively new rapper making waves this year with tracks like Phantom and LV Sandalsand fans are speculating that he could actually be Chalamet.

The Scouse-born rapper always wears a ski mask, leaving only his eyes and eyebrows visible.

There are plenty of reasons fans are drawing comparisons between the two, and here’s the full breakdown of the suspected “clues” and theories.

Firstly, Chalamet has been confusing fans with recent comments hinting that he might actually be British, adding more fuel to the EsDeeKid rumours.

In a recent interview, he casually mentioned niche British celebrity Susan Boyle — which non-Brit can name-drop Boyle with such ease?

“She dreamt big,” the two-time Oscar nominee enthused during an interview with BBC News. “She dreamt bigger than all of us.

“Who wasn’t moved by that [story]? I remember that like it was yesterday.”

He further stirred the pot by listing EsDeeKid collaborator Fakemink right after.

All of this has left fans questioning the French actor’s true nationality.

Secondly, fans have noticed striking similarities between the Little Women actor and EsDeeKid. Some argue they share the same eyes — and that could be why the rapper always wears a mask. Seeing their photos side by side is undeniably uncanny.

Another creepy coincidence? Both have been spotted wearing the same skull scarf, which some fans claim is a “hidden in plain sight” clue.

Chalamet is known for being cheeky, and a Hannah Montana-style secret seems right up his street. Maybe he simply wants the “best of both worlds.”

Let’s not forget that he also performed under the name Timmy T while in college, rapping—quite convincingly—to his fellow students, proving he has the talent.

When asked during a Heart Radio interview whether he was EsDeeKid, he gave a mysteriously teasing response:

“I got no comment… All will be revealed in due time.”

Is Timothée Chalamet actually EsDeeKid?

The moment of truth: Is Timothée Chalamet actually rapper EsDeeKid in disguise? Well, the mask came off, and the truth is out.

A TikTok video shows EsDeeKid performing at a Brooklyn venue without the ski mask that’s become his signature look. According to the post, the reveal happened during the live set, with the audience reacting in real time. Honestly, we would have gasped.

It seems Chalamet has left his rapping days behind — and EsDeeKid is just Hannah, not Miley.

Only time will tell how this will affect EsDeeKid’s rising fame, now that attention is shifting from his mystery to his music. The face reveal has not only debunked a popular theory but also marked a turning point in how the rapper is perceived, both on stage and online.

The 7 Best Foods to Fight Inflammation

0

Inflammation is a natural process that plays a key role in your body’s immune response—but it has a dark side, too. While acute (short-term) inflammation is integral to fighting infection and healing wounds, chronic inflammation—a low-grade variety that lasts for several months to years—is downright harmful. Like the proverbial trickle of water that erodes a boulder over millennia, it moves slowly but has a devastating impact.

Chronic inflammation drives significant “longer-term health complications,” Vincci Tsui, RD, a certified intuitive eating counselor based in Canada, tells SELF. In fact, it’s “associated with most chronic diseases,” Desiree Nielsen, RD, a recipe developer with a focus on plant-based nutrition, says—including big bads like cancer, diabetes, autoimmune conditions, and neurodegenerative disorders from Alzheimer’s to Parkinson’s. Together, inflammation-related maladies rank as the most significant cause of death in the world, contributing to more than 50% of all deaths, according to a 2019 article published in the scientific journal Nature.

Thankfully, there’s plenty you can do to prevent or counter chronic inflammation. Just a few basic lifestyle changes can make a big difference, since factors like high stress, irregular sleep, and inactivity are all known triggers—not to mention poor nutrition. Here’s everything you need to know about how your diet affects the development and progression of chronic inflammation, and what foods can help beat it back.

How your eating habits influence your chronic inflammation risk

When it comes to fighting chronic inflammation, your diet can be a friend or foe: some types of food encourage chronic inflammation, while others discourage it. Notably, “people who follow more of a plant-based eating pattern tend to have less,” Tsui says.

Whether a specific food proves pro- or anti-inflammatory comes down to four main considerations, according to Nielsen. Here’s a brief rundown of each.

  • How it impacts your blood sugar: “Chronically high blood sugars can increase chronic inflammation over time,” Nielsen says. While blood sugar naturally rises and falls in response to a snack or meal, foods plentiful in refined carbs and added sugars can cause more drastic fluctuations, producing a “roller coaster of high highs and low lows” that spells bad news.
  • What fat type it contains: While nutrition lumps “fats” into a single category, the inflammatory footprint (or lack thereof) really depends on “the type of fat we consume,” Nielsen says. Harmful saturated fats—found in animal products like red meat, beef tallow, and full-fat dairy—are “associated with increased chronic inflammation.” Meanwhile, healthy mono- and polyunsaturated fats (including omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids) are tied to reduced inflammation.
  • Whether it has anti-inflammatory nutrient contents: “Many nutrients have been shown to support anti-inflammatory pathways in the body,” Nielsen says—from fiber, to vitamins (like C and E), to minerals (like zinc and selenium), to a class of antioxidant plant compounds known as polyphenols. Flavonoids, a major family of polyphenols, exhibit particularly potent antioxidant activity and, in turn, are super effective at staving off inflammation-inducing oxidative stress, “so flavonoid-rich foods are a major category that you want to consume more of if you are interested in an anti-inflammatory dietary pattern.”
  • How it affects your gut microbiome: Quick refresh in case you need it: Your gut microbiome refers to the community of bacteria and other microorganisms that live in your digestive tract. While some of those microorganisms can improve your digestion and make you feel better overall, others can have the opposite effect—and your diet plays a big role in mediating that balance. Certain foods (refined carbs and added sugars again, plus red meat, fried foods, artificial sweeteners, and more) spur on harmful bacteria that are “more pro-inflammatory,” Nielsen says. On the other hand, healthier choices (fiber and probiotics, say) “drive the growth of beneficial bacteria” that do the reverse.

The best foods to fight inflammation

Generally, limiting highly processed products, saturated fats, trans fats, and refined sugar—and prioritizing a diverse array of nutrient-rich items instead—is the most effective way to stave off chronic inflammation through diet. Considering that a plant-based diet is tied to lower inflammation, “leaning more toward plant-based foods” never hurts, Tsui says—but there are exceptions. Without further ado, here are seven of the top options.

1. Turmeric (but not the supplements)

Turmeric—the Indian and Middle Eastern spice known for its bright yellow color and distinctive earthy flavor—is among the most well-studied anti-inflammatory foods, according to Nielsen: It’s “quite evidence-based,” she says. For these anti-inflammatory benefits, we have polyphenols to thank, especially curcumin, turmeric’s active ingredient. While turmeric is best known as a staple in curries (and perhaps, now, lattes and wellness bevs), you can also add the spice to soups, smoothies, and other dishes, Nielsen says: Shoot for “half a teaspoon to a teaspoon of turmeric over the course of the day.” Keep in mind that this advice only applies to actual turmeric: you’ll want to avoid turmeric supplements (like those that come in pill form), as the dose is so concentrated that it can cause liver damage.

2. Plant oils (oils derived from fruits, seeds, nuts, and legumes)

There’s a reason more and more people are adopting some version of the olive oil-heavy Mediterranean diet, according to Tsui: Consuming plant oils—not only olive oil, but others like avocado oil as well—“is associated with lower inflammation for two reasons,” Nielsen says. One: They have a healthy fat profile, as they are higher in healthy unsaturated fats and lower in harmful saturated fat than comparable animal products like lard, butter, and tallow. Two: They’re high in polyphenols (especially extra-virgin olive oil), so you get that “anti-inflammatory nutrient as well,” Nielsen says.
